Ariana Biermann has revealed the heartbreaking reason behind her split from longtime boyfriend Hudson McLeroy, admitting she reached a breaking point after feeling he had simply 'stopped trying' in their relationship.
The Next Gen NYC star has spoken candidly about the end of their nearly decade-long, on-and-off romance, insisting the decision was not made in the heat of the moment but after months of watching their relationship lose its spark. While the couple officially split in October 2025, the 24-year-old said viewers will finally see what really happened when the new season of Bravo's reality series airs.
Rather than a single dramatic argument, Biermann described a slow breakdown fuelled by a lack of effort, saying she eventually realised the relationship was no longer giving her what she needed.

Biermann explained that ending the relationship was one of the hardest decisions she had ever made because she had spent almost a year trying to decide whether things could change.
'You'll definitely see a lot more into the true reasons of why, and that it wasn't a decision that I made overnight, it was a decision that I made over the course of a year', she said.
The reality star revealed that problems became more apparent after she and McLeroy moved to New York together. She said she repeatedly asked him to make more of an effort, including planning dates and investing more time in their relationship, but felt those requests went unanswered.
Instead, Biermann came to believe McLeroy had become emotionally stagnant while she continued to grow.
Despite deciding to end the romance, she insisted there was no bitterness between them.
'I wanted us both to very much still be involved, to be able to work together, to be able to be around friends. It wasn't that it was a breakup of, like, "I hate you, I'm never gonna speak to you"', she explained.
One of the most emotional moments came after they officially ended their relationship.
'The last time we saw each other, he kissed me goodbye and got on a flight to Atlanta. We broke up and snuggled in our apartment for two weeks after', Biermann revealed.
The former couple had dated on and off since high school, making the split particularly emotional after years of building a life together.
McLeroy Admits He Wasn't Growing as Romance Reached Its End
McLeroy has also acknowledged the issues that contributed to the breakdown of their relationship.
During Next Gen NYC, he admitted he had not been 'emotionally growing' and recognised that his lack of personal progress had become 'unattractive' to Biermann.
The difficult conversations surrounding their breakup are expected to play out in the new season of the Bravo series. In one emotional scene, Biermann tells McLeroy that she no longer believes the relationship is right for her.
'The question is: Is this still good for me? And it's not. I'm really sorry', she says.
McLeroy responds with an apology, then hopes their story may not be over, telling her, 'I think one day it will'.
