Brad Pitt has opened up about a very personal change in his life, saying he has started drinking alcohol again after seven years of sobriety. However, he is not presenting it as a return to his old habits.

The F1 actor has said he now approaches drinking with more restraint, acknowledging that he has learned where his limits are. His admission has inevitably put his past struggles with alcohol back in the spotlight.

But while plenty of people may have an opinion about Pitt's decision, his former wife Jennifer Aniston reportedly isn't one of them.

An unnamed source claims the Friends star still 'roots for Brad' and has no interest in judging how he chooses to live his life. The source even claims Aniston 'would happily have a drink with Brad,' suggesting their relationship is a long way from the painful headlines of their divorce.

What Aniston Thinks About Pitt's Drinking

According to entertainment journalist Rob Shuter, Aniston's attitude towards Pitt is surprisingly straightforward—she wants him to be happy.

'If Brad wants to sit down with friends, have a glass of wine and enjoy himself, she thinks he should be able to do that,' Shuter's insider stated.

They also claimed there is no drama between the former couple, adding: 'Jen would happily have a drink with Brad.'

The insider acknowledged that the former couple's past was painful but suggested Pitt has faced years of public scrutiny since their marriage ended. 'What happened with Jen was painful, but Brad has been through years of public battles since then,' the source said.

Those close to Pitt reportedly believe he deserves the opportunity to move forward without having every decision he makes scrutinised.

It is worth stressing that these comments come from an unnamed source and have not been publicly confirmed by Aniston or Pitt. Still, they offer a striking contrast to the years of speculation that followed the couple's split.

Inside Brad Pitt & Jennifer Aniston's Past

Before they became exes, Aniston and Pitt were one of Hollywood's biggest couples.

The pair began dating in 1998 after being introduced by their managers and married in July 2000. Their relationship quickly became a fixture of celebrity culture, with Pitt even making a guest appearance on Friends during Aniston's time on the hit sitcom.

Their marriage ended in 2005, when Aniston filed for divorce. Pitt went on to begin a relationship with Angelina Jolie, whom he later married, while Aniston eventually married actor Justin Theroux. Both marriages ultimately ended in divorce.

Yet the relationship between Aniston and Pitt appears to have softened considerably over the years. They have been photographed together at industry events, including their memorable 2020 SAG Awards reunion, and have publicly spoken positively about one another.

Brad Pitt's Battle With Alcohol

Pitt has previously been candid about his relationship with alcohol. After his split from Jolie, he spoke openly about giving up drinking and attending Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). In 2019, he said he had spent about a year and a half in AA while confronting his problems.

Pitt has now revealed that he maintained seven years of sobriety before drinking again. However, he says he approaches alcohol differently now, drinking in a more restrained manner and recognising his limits. Given his public recovery journey, his decision to drink again has inevitably drawn attention.
