Cara Delevingne has recalled an unsuccessful date that led her to a lesbian sex party, describing the experience as 'bad' and revealing that she left shortly after arriving. The British model and actress shared the story during an appearance on Cosmopolitan magazine's Blind Date interview series, where she discussed her past romantic experiences, her relationship with musician Minke and how sobriety has affected her approach to love.
'I went to a lesbian sex party once. That was bad. I left quickly; nothing happened,' Delevingne said, recalling the encounter. She also warned that such experiences could be disappointing, adding: 'Just be wary of sex parties, you never know, they can be bad... It was bad.'
The 34-year-old described an unusual setting that resembled a gymnasium, with bright lighting and guests wearing masks. She remembered the atmosphere and clothing as key details of the event.
Cara Delevingne Describes the Unusual Party
Delevingne shared more details about the encounter, explaining that the party took place in a brightly lit gymnasium rather than an environment she had expected. 'It was, like, in a gymnasium and the lights were really bright. I went in a mask and, like, we were all attached to each other,' she said.
'And it wasn't that. It wasn't that at all. Everyone was wearing, like, kitten heels. I don't know how to describe it. It wasn't good,' Delevingne added.
The actress did not describe any sexual activity taking place during the encounter. Instead, she said she left quickly, summarising the experience as a disappointing one.
Delevingne on Her Relationship With Minke
During the interview, Delevingne also discussed her relationship with British musician Leah Mason, who performs under the name Minke. The couple's relationship has been part of Delevingne's more recent reflections on love and emotional vulnerability. She explained that giving up alcohol had changed how she approached romantic relationships, leaving her feeling more exposed because she could no longer use drinking to shield herself emotionally.
'There's nothing to hide behind. They see everything,' she said, discussing the impact of sobriety on her relationships. Delevingne also recalled a period when she had decided against pursuing another relationship.
'But my body felt very safe with her, and I can't really describe why,' she said of her connection with Minke.
Sobriety and a Different Approach to Love
Delevingne has spoken openly about her past experiences with alcohol and drugs and how sobriety has changed her approach to relationships. During the Cosmopolitan interview, she explained that being sober has made her feel more emotionally exposed when dating, as she no longer has alcohol to hide behind.
The actress also revealed that she had previously decided to stop pursuing relationships before reconnecting with British musician Minke. She said she felt safe with her partner, describing a sense of comfort that she found difficult to explain.
