Chloe Ormond has publicly accused her stepmother, POCO Beauty founder Pippa O'Connor, of making her feel 'erased' from the family for years. In an Instagram Story posted on Monday, 21 September, the 26-year-old content creator said she had stayed silent for 'almost 18 years' while feeling excluded from the life O'Connor shares with Chloe's father, TV presenter Brian Ormond.
'Family is not a brand aesthetic & kindness that ends behind closed doors is not kindness,' Chloe wrote. She said the family image shown publicly did not reflect her experience behind closed doors and alleged that repeated exclusion had followed her from childhood into adulthood.
Chloe Says She Felt Like an 'Inconvenience'
Chloe, Brian's daughter from a previous relationship with Natara Byrne, said she had been made to feel 'like an inconvenience in my own father's life.' She alleged there was 'not one photograph' of her displayed in Pippa and Brian's Kildare home and said her achievements had gone unacknowledged. She also claimed her father's support sometimes felt as though it depended on his wife's approval.
The influencer framed the dispute as a long-running pattern rather than a single recent fallout. 'I have spent years being made to feel erased, unwelcome and like my very existence was a problem,' she wrote, adding that she had repeatedly tried to repair the relationship. Chloe also said carrying that rejection into adulthood had affected her mental health, something she said she had hidden in public.
Her comments also brought Brian into the dispute. Chloe said she loved her father but was hurt that, in her view, he had allowed the situation to continue, while stressing that she still adored her three younger half-brothers, Ollie, Louis and Billy. Pippa married Brian in 2011 after the couple began their relationship in 2008.
Her Statement Follows Earlier Public Praise
The allegations mark a major shift from the way Chloe had publicly discussed Pippa before. In a July 2026 interview, she praised her stepmother's career, saying, 'Pippa has built her career through entrepreneurship and business,' while explaining that she wanted to carve out her own path. In 2021, while launching a beauty collaboration, Chloe also described Pippa as someone she looked up to and said she had been there when Chloe needed advice.
That earlier public warmth places Chloe's explanation for speaking now at the centre of the story. She said she had kept quiet to protect a family image and no longer wanted to do so at the expense of her wellbeing.
'My silence has protected everybody except me & that silence ends here,' she wrote.
The Fallout Reaches a High-Profile Beauty Family
O'Connor is the founder and CEO of Poco Beauty. Bopoc Holdings Limited, the group behind the couple's fashion and beauty businesses, reported revenues of €7.75 million (approximately £6.6million or $8.8 million) and pre-tax profits of €1.17 million (around £1.05 million or $1.3 million) for the 12 months to the end of October 2025. Poco Beauty expanded its UK retail presence through Selfridges in September.
Chloe used the phrase against the backdrop of Pippa's highly visible beauty business and social media presence, although her allegations concerned her private family experience rather than the company's operations. Her statement focused on how she says she was treated within the family and the gap she believes existed between private reality and the image presented publicly.
Neither Pippa nor Brian had publicly responded to Chloe's allegations by Wednesday, 23 September. Chloe ended her statement by saying social media could protect an image but could never 'erase the reality behind it.'
