In Dior's new Christmas film, a Médallion chair speaks, the atelier's artisans appear as bees, and Christian Dior works through the night to finish a gown. The hand-drawn short, 'Christian Dior's Night in Color', sets the scene for the Baby Dior Holiday 2026 collection.

It is a tender, slightly strange way to introduce childrenswear. Robert Pattinson narrates a story about a friendship between a couturier and a screen star, leaving the question hanging of whether that story turns a baby's first Dior knit into a keepsake or simply a beautiful advert.

Heirloom Knits and Toile de Jouy

The festive offering centres on delicate knitwear, signature house patterns, and gift selections crafted for infants and children. Cordelia de Castellane directs Baby Dior within the wider house vision shaped by Jonathan Anderson.

Under de Castellane's direction, natural fibres anchor the heirloom positioning. Tactile wool-and-cashmere beanies, openwork Cannage cashmere blankets, and soft pointelle cardigans offer durability designed to withstand storage and passage through multiple generations.

The visual motifs serve as the collection's narrative core. Toile de Jouy appears as a soft storybook print across cotton poplin sleeping bags and newborn sets, reimagining traditional pastoral scenes with subtle animal and fairytale details in shades of pale gray, blush pink, and light blue. Alongside it, the Dior Oblique motif offers a more graphic signature, rendered quietly across jacquard changing bags, plush accessories, and velvet jersey dresses.

Christian Dior's Night in Colour: A Friendship Retold

Directed by Oscar-nominated Sylvain Chomet, the short is set in Paris in 1949 and follows Christian Dior as he works through the night on a new gown inspired by his Junon design. Louis Garrel and Camille Cottin voice Dior and Marlene Dietrich, whose friendship inspired the story. Chomet still uses traditional hand-drawn techniques, which gives the film a handmade quality that suits a house built on craft.

The supporting cast is as charming as the leads. Rihanna plays The Lucky Star, LaKeith Stanfield plays Ron the Director, and Greta Lee, Nine d'Urso, and Nadia Tereszkiewicz voice the bees, nodding to Dior's atelier artisans. Josh O'Connor voices the chair, modelled on Dior's Médaillon design.

Selling Heritage to the Next Generation

The film puts people at the centre: a founder, a friend and the craftspeople behind the seams. Childrenswear is a category built around giving something to someone else, and the film frames each piece as the work of a house with a story to hand on.

The gingerbread setting also features in Dior's 'Sweet Atelier of Dreams' beauty campaign, unveiled on 19 October with ambassadors Anya Taylor-Joy and Deva Cassel. Together, the film and the campaign turn 30 Montaigne into a place with its own fairytale logic.

Dior sells the children's line and limited-edition holiday items through Dior boutiques and the official Dior website. Some regional Dior pages advertise complimentary express shipping and extended returns for the holiday season, and terms vary by country.

Ultimately, the collection's true value lies in how effectively it bridges spectacle and substance. By framing fine wools and house codes through the lens of Dior's historic 1949 atelier, the campaign elevates a seasonal children's line into a tangible piece of house heritage. The clothes may be scaled down for toddlers, but their craftsmanship is built to endure.
