Donna Mills has surprised fans by joining OnlyFans at 85, but she is not planning to use the platform in quite the way some people might expect.
The Knots Landing star said she wants to use her new account to share moments from her daily life, behind-the-scenes glimpses and more personal interactions with the people who have supported her throughout her long career. Mills said social media has helped her stay connected with fans, but OnlyFans gives her 'the opportunity for a more personal and direct connection'.
'I've always appreciated the incredible support and encouragement I've received from my fans over the years,' Mills said in a statement shared with Variety. She added that the account will allow her to spend 'quality time' with her supporters while staying true to herself.
That explanation, however, has not stopped the internet from having a little fun with the announcement.

Mills' OnlyFans move quickly attracted plenty of mocking reactions, with some commenters seemingly assuming thats@ joining the platform automatically means posting nude content.
'Really??? Who wants to see a nude 85 year old?' one critic wrote.
Another joked about the sort of exclusive material subscribers might receive, writing: 'Subscribe now to get exclusive, uncensored footage of her finding where she put her glasses.'
Then came the banana bread jokes.
'Are people gonna want to pay money to watch her bake banana bread?' one person asked, suggesting that Mills should start a YouTube channel instead.
Others were less amused. One commenter called the move 'cringe', while another questioned whether OnlyFans was really the right place for the type of content Mills says she wants to create.
But not everyone agreed that the platform should automatically be associated with nudity. One person pointed out: 'Only fans isn't only about nudity... Most are just the basic everyday life about the owner of the account.' But that sparked another suggestion from commenters, saying perhaps Patreon would be a better fit.

Donna Mills Reveals What Fans Can Expect
Mills has already made it clear that she is not joining OnlyFans simply to shock people.
Her plan is to share snippets of her everyday life, behind-the-scenes moments and more direct interactions with her audience. In other words, subscribers can expect a closer look at Mills rather than a completely different version of the actress.
Andy Bachman, CEO of Creators Inc, said the move is about giving longtime fans greater access to Mills' personality, style and life behind the scenes.
'This is not about changing who she is,' Bachman said, adding that Mills is approaching the platform 'on her own terms'. He also revealed that Mills' attitude towards the idea was essentially: 'YOLO — let's do it.'
Creators Inc is a management company with a focus on OnlyFans talent.
Mills is not the only Hollywood name to turn to OnlyFans. American Pie and Scary Movie star Shannon Elizabeth launched her account in April, reportedly earning more than $1.2 million (£900,000) in her first seven days. My Name Is Earl star Jaime Pressly also joined the platform in May, saying it offered another way to connect with her audience directly.
Donna Mills' Career Stretches Across Six Decades
For anyone wondering why Mills is still making headlines decades after her biggest television role, the answer is simple: she has had an impressively long career.
Mills made her television debut in 1966 with a supporting role on the CBS soap The Secret Storm. She later became a household name as Abby Cunningham on CBS primetime hit Knots Landing, one of the defining television dramas of the 1980s.
She also earned a Daytime Emmy for her role as Madeline Reeves on General Hospital in 2015. More recently, Mills appeared in films including Joy (2015), Nope (2022) and Origin (2023).
Now, at 85, she is adding OnlyFans to that résumé.
