Dylan Sprouse probably expected a few unusual food requests during wife Barbara Palvin's pregnancy. Instead, the supermodel developed a craving that isn't edible.
According to Sprouse, Palvin has been craving gambling.
The actor revealed the unexpected pregnancy habit while the couple explored newborn essentials with Babylist, explaining that his wife had suddenly taken an interest in sports betting.
When Sprouse attempted to redirect that newfound enthusiasm towards something a little more permanent, they somehow ended up at Pokémon cards.
Because clearly pregnancy cravings can now come with odds, holographics, and the possibility of pulling a Charizard or a Jigglypuff.
Barbara Palvin's Pregnancy Craving Has Nothing to Do With Food
'Her only pregnancy craving, and this is not a joke, has been gambling,' Sprouse revealed.
He explained that Palvin had taken up sports betting during her pregnancy, prompting him to suggest an alternative.
'I was like, "Why don't we divert this into something a little more permanent?" And so she took up ripping Pokémon cards, which is the equivalent of sports gambling, I think.'
For anyone unfamiliar with the hobby, opening Pokémon card packs comes with its own element of chance. You might pull an ordinary card. You might uncover something relatively rarer.
For Mrs Sprouse, it seems to have provided an acceptable substitute for watching the odds unfold on the playing field.
Sprouse ultimately confirmed that the more traditional pregnancy-craving department has remained surprisingly quiet.
'Long story short, there's been no food,' he added.
Forget pickles and ice cream. This baby apparently came with a side quest.
Baby Girl Sprouse on the Way
The unusual craving arrives as Sprouse and Palvin prepare to welcome their first child together. The couple announced the pregnancy in May while attending the Cannes Film Festival, where Barbara Palvin debuted her baby bump in an ethereal pale blue dress with a feathered trim.
Later on, they revealed on Dylan Sprouse's Wildmen podcast that they're expecting a daughter, whom they have affectionately been calling 'principessa', the Italian word for princess.
'We are having a baby girl, which I'm very excited about,' Sprouse said. 'I'm excited to be a girl dad, actually.'
Becoming a father to a daughter carries another particularly sweet significance for the actor. According to Dylan, she will be the first girl born into the Sprouse family in a very long time.

The actor previously admitted that raising a daughter will be completely new territory after growing up in a family dominated by boys.
'In terms of raising a baby girl, it's completely unknown to me,' he explained, while adding that he's nevertheless 'very excited'.
Luckily, Mr and Mrs Sprouse appear to be approaching parenthood with the same adorable humour that has long defined their relationship. Judging by Palvin's current craving, their daughter may already have quite the collection waiting for her.
Baby clothes? Check. Newborn essentials? Check. Pokémon cards? Obviously, also check.
