Fashion Month prepares to take over New York, London, Milan and Paris for the Spring/Summer 2027 season @cameramoda/Instagram

September has arrived, and fashion is about to take over four of the world's biggest cities. New York Fashion Week will start the main run of Spring/Summer 2027 shows before London, Milan and Paris take their turns through early October.

Official fashion bodies currently list New York from 10 September, London from 17 September, Milan from 22 September and Paris from 28 September. Together, the schedules create almost a full month of runway shows, presentations and industry events.

New York Starts Fashion Month

New York Fashion Week is scheduled to run from Thursday, 10 September, to Tuesday, 15 September. The Council of Fashion Designers of America's preliminary Spring/Summer 2027 calendar includes around 70 runway shows and designer presentations.

Henry Zankov's first collection as artistic director of Diane von Furstenberg is set to open the official week, while Thom Browne is scheduled to close it.

Some major events will begin even before the official opening day. Ralph Lauren is due to show his Spring 2027 collection on Wednesday, 9 September, while Coach, Cult Gaia, Rachel Comey, J. Press and Libertine also have events planned that day. That gives New York an early start before the main six-day schedule begins.

The New York calendar also includes names such as Calvin Klein Collection, Carolina Herrera, Michael Kors Collection, Tory Burch, Anna Sui, Proenza Schouler and Christian Siriano. Tommy Hilfiger, Monse and threeASFOUR are among the brands returning to the official schedule. Several newer designers are also joining the calendar.

London Takes Over Next

Only a short break remains before fashion moves across the Atlantic to London. London Fashion Week is scheduled from Thursday, 17 September, through Monday, 21 September.

The British Fashion Council says the programme brings established houses together with an emerging generation of designers, giving newer names space alongside more familiar British fashion brands.

The current schedule begins with Paul Costelloe on Thursday morning, followed by a mix of catwalk shows, presentations, appointments and other fashion events. Some parts of the programme are invite-only, while selected events are open to the public.

The official digital platform also continues to give people outside London access to Fashion Week content. London has long built part of its fashion identity around new ideas and emerging talent. This season will again mix established names with designers still building their place in the industry, giving the city a different feel from New York while keeping Fashion Month moving at a fast pace.

Milan Follows With Italian Fashion

Milan Fashion Week begins the day after London's official schedule ends. Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana lists the Spring/Summer 2027 edition from Tuesday, 22 September, through Monday, 28 September.

The seven-day run puts Milan directly between London and Paris on the global fashion calendar. Milan remains one of Fashion Month's key stops because Italy is home to many of the industry's best-known luxury houses. The Milan dates follow immediately after London, giving buyers, editors and other industry figures little time between the two schedules.

The September shows focus on Spring/Summer 2027, giving brands a chance to introduce ideas for the seasons ahead. Collections shown on these runways can later influence fashion coverage, retail trends and social media.

Milan then hands the spotlight to Paris as the final stage of the four-city run begins.

Paris Brings the Finale

Paris Fashion Week will run from Monday, 28 September, to Tuesday, 6 October, according to the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode.

The nine-day womenswear schedule will present Spring/Summer 2027 ready-to-wear collections and serve as the final major stop in the New York, London, Milan and Paris run.

Paris will also host the SPHERE Paris Fashion Week showroom at the Palais de Tokyo from 30 September through 6 October. The programme is designed to give selected emerging brands greater exposure during Fashion Week. A digital version of the showroom will also be available by invitation.

Fashion fans should note that Paris officially begins on 28 September, not 22 September. The 22 September date marks the start of Milan Fashion Week.

Fashion Month Is Almost Continuous

Taken together, the four main fashion weeks stretch from 10 September to 6 October, with major New York events beginning even earlier on 9 September. That creates almost a month of new collections, front-row appearances and runway moments. It also explains why September is commonly referred to as Fashion Month rather than simply a series of separate fashion weeks.

Each city also brings its own identity to the schedule. New York puts American fashion at the centre, London is closely associated with emerging talent and experimentation, Milan carries the influence of Italian luxury, and Paris brings the four-city run to a close.

For fashion fans, the key dates are New York from 10 to 15 September, London from 17 to 21 September, Milan from 22 to 28 September, and Paris from 28 September to 6 October.

The runway season therefore does not end with September, as Paris carries Fashion Month into the first week of October.
