Flair Fashion IGNITE brought together eight emerging designers for a collective runway showcase during London Fashion Week on 19 September 2026, with collections featuring digital displays, unconventional silhouettes, bohemian influences and experimental approaches to materials.

The showcase included GASHANI, QUAREZ, BERTH, VELESPACE x THE KONG IS DEAD, UNE ENFANT, EL KHEMIE, PSY LAU and TRASHY PLANETS. Each label presented its own collection, covering different themes and design approaches, from 1970s-inspired fashion and architectural influences to wearable technology and garments incorporating natural dyes. The event formed part of the Spring/Summer 2027 fashion calendar and featured designers working across womenswear, streetwear, couture and experimental fashion.

Wearable Technology and Experimental Design

One of the technology-focused presentations came from VELESPACE, which introduced its Tech Charm concept through its debut collection, 'SPHERE 01'. The label presented a circular display designed to show still and moving imagery, with the visuals changing over time. The presentation appeared alongside 'Wounds In Blue' by THE KONG IS DEAD, marking the label's second consecutive appearance on the London Fashion Week schedule.

Inspired by the work of artist Lucio Fontana, the collection explored the idea of cutting through a surface. Garments featured openings in their outer layers, while one look displayed branding across the back. Another used opened denim to reveal red fabric underneath, with paint also incorporated into the denim pieces. The collection used cuts and exposed layers as part of its construction, translating the concept into details across the garments.

Bohemian References and Surreal Silhouettes

BERTH presented its Spring/Summer 2027 collection, 'Gathering of Dreamers', drawing on the 1970s hippie and bohemian movements. Founded by Afa Tsang in 2014, the UK-based label works across womenswear, menswear, childrenswear and accessories.

The collection featured layered silhouettes, textured fabrics, cascading fringes, dream-catcher motifs, floral details, embroidery and patterns influenced by traditional textiles. Its designs referenced themes of individuality, spontaneity and freedom associated with the era.

QUAREZ, meanwhile, used childhood imagination as the starting point for its collection. The label explored vulnerability and freedom through exaggerated proportions, distorted forms and protective silhouettes. Its designs used familiar clothing shapes in unconventional ways, with pre-existing materials incorporated into the collection. The presentation also examined clothing as a form of personal protection, using the idea of a wearable shell to inform the shapes and proportions of the garments.

Couture and Nature-Inspired Details

Kosovo couture house GASHANI presented 'The Golden Hour', a collection inspired by the relationship between earth and sky. The designs explored themes of roots, wings, sunlight, water and movement.

The collection included sculpted corsetry, delicate beadwork and handmade root details, alongside butterfly-inspired silhouettes and golden petal shapes. Fluid forms referencing the ocean also featured, while a chiffon gown incorporated colours associated with the golden hour. The label took part with support from Grow Kosovo.

Futuristic References and Urban Fashion

London-based womenswear label UNE ENFANT, founded in 2025, presented its Spring/Summer 2027 collection, 'Once, Ahead'. The designs drew on early 2000s architecture and visual culture, revisiting the period's optimistic outlook and futuristic references.

The collection featured clean silhouettes, subtle futuristic details and a cool urban colour palette. Its designs explored how the visual influences of the past could be reinterpreted through contemporary womenswear.

EL KHEMIE presented 'Department of Nocturnal Affairs', a collection exploring the experience of workers operating from midnight until dawn. Founded by Singaporean architect Kassandra Lim, the label approaches workwear through references to the country's corporate culture and traditional coffee and tea rituals.

Structured around six acts, the collection incorporated hand-extracted colours from ingredients including coffee, black tea, chamomile and Peranakan butterfly pea tea. The resulting shades were layered into silk organza and combined with botanical greens, earthy tones and corporate navy suiting. The presentation explored the relationship between professional dress codes, creative expression and the routines of working life.

Streetwear and the Idea of Letting Go

Hong Kong streetwear label PSY LAU presented 'The Art of Letting Go', a Spring/Summer 2027 collection influenced by the Japanese philosophy of Danshari. The concept centres on decluttering, letting go of possessions and reclaiming personal space.

The collection explored emotional connections and the natural changes that take place in relationships. Its accompanying concept considered how people can drift apart, bonds can weaken and individual paths can eventually diverge.

PSY LAU is known for its limited-production jackets, shirts and shorts, with an emphasis on tailor-made pieces and sustainability. The SS27 collection continued the label's exploration of personal experiences through fashion.

Mythology and Reworked Materials

London-based independent fashion and costume house TRASHY PLANETS presented 'Ashes to Ashes', a collection exploring regality, mythology and rebirth. Founded by self-taught designer and showgirl Bambi Blue, the label produces handcrafted, one-of-a-kind pieces influenced by theatre, subcultures and costume-making traditions.

The collection drew on imagery associated with ancient royalty and mythology, using dramatic silhouettes, rich embellishment and feathered details. Its designs also reflected the label's approach to transforming discarded materials into finished fashion pieces.

Across the eight presentations, Flair Fashion Ignite brought together labels working in different areas of fashion, including couture, streetwear, costume design and wearable technology. The showcase took place on 19 September 2026 as part of the London Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2027 programme.
