Georgina Rodríguez appeared to embrace understated elegance when she married Cristiano Ronaldo in an intimate living-room ceremony–but her seemingly simple wedding wardrobe was hiding a staggering fortune in diamonds.

The model, 32, wore a sleek white Gucci skirt suit rather than a traditional wedding gown for her 11 August ceremony with Ronaldo, 41, at their summer home in Cascais, Portugal.

Yet the pared-back outfit was paired with more than $50 million (£37 million) worth of Chopard diamonds, turning an otherwise low-key bridal look into an extraordinary display of high jewellery.

The contrast is striking: a private wedding surrounded by family, with no grand ballroom or celebrity spectacle, yet a collection of jewels worth tens of millions of dollars glittering against the bride's minimalist ensemble.

And there was plenty of sentimental meaning behind the fashion choices, too.

The $50 Million Diamonds Behind Her 'Simple' Look

The centrepiece of Rodríguez's jewellery was Chopard's spectacular Garden of Kalahari necklace, featuring a 50-carat D-flawless brilliant-cut diamond alongside more than 146 carats of additional diamonds.

The necklace is particularly notable because it had already enjoyed a major celebrity fashion moment. Beyoncé previously wore a piece from the Garden of Kalahari collection at the 2026 Met Gala, adding another layer of star power to Rodríguez's wedding jewellery.

Rodríguez also transformed two pendant elements from the necklace into earrings, ensuring the diamonds remained the focus even though her clothing was deliberately restrained.

She added her enormous oval-cut engagement ring from Ronaldo, which Page Six reports is valued at up to $5 million, as well as further Chopard pieces, including an emerald-cut diamond bracelet and a 20-carat diamond ring.

The jewellery has an extraordinary history of its own. The Garden of Kalahari pieces were created from the legendary 342-carat Queen of Kalahari rough diamond, which was transformed into a collection of exceptional stones.

Taken together, the pieces explain how a wedding outfit that looked relatively modest could carry such an astonishing price tag.

Why Georgina Chose a Low-Key Gucci Wedding

Despite the eye-watering value of her jewellery, Rodríguez's wedding clothing was intentionally understated.

Rather than wearing a traditional bridal gown, she chose a white silk faille skirt suit by Gucci, paired with matching satin shoes. Ronaldo wore a custom light beige Gucci suit, while their children were also dressed by the Italian fashion house.

The choice was far from random.

The couple first met in 2016 when Rodríguez was working at a Gucci store in Madrid, making the brand a deeply personal reference to the beginning of their relationship. Their wedding date, 11 August, also marked ten years since that first meeting.

Instead of staging the huge celebrity wedding many might have expected, the couple chose to marry in their living room, surrounded by their five children. Rodríguez has also indicated that a larger celebration could take place in the future.

That makes her bridal look all the more intriguing. On the surface, Rodríguez's wedding was deliberately intimate and understated. But beneath the simple white Gucci tailoring was a dazzling collection of rare diamonds worth more than $50 million.

It was, quite literally, understated luxury–with the most expensive details saved for the jewellery.
