Christian Louboutin has always been synonymous with the red sole that added sophistication and dollar signs to any outfit. Under Jaden Smith's creative watch, that signature has officially left the underside of a shoe and taken over the entire room.
Appointed as the brand's men's creative director in September 2025, Jaden is steadily showing that he has creativity running through his veins. His latest showcase at Paris Fashion Week is a full reimagining of what the brand can look like when tradition meshes with something electrifyingly experimental.
Welcome to Jaden's version of the red universe.
Seeing Red: A Set That Swallowed the Sole
Held at the Palais Brongniart, attendees were greeted at the entrance by two Goliath-sized red feet sculptures. (Are these the feet people are referring to when they use the adage 'big shoes to fill'?)
Before even getting to process the giant red feet, guests entered through a crimson-drenched space that can be perceived as walking into the heart of Louboutin itself. Red sand, red light, red everything. Most guests may likely agree that the Stone Henge-esque setup framed the shoes as artefacts, withstanding the test of time.
The colour that once lived discreetly beneath Louboutin heels now dominated the environment entirely, painting Paris red.
Inside, Jaden told a story through stellar footwear. The After Earth actor displayed the brand's new collection that featured a vast array of designs, from gem-rimmed shoes to the scene-stealing monster shoes.
Claw-like slip-ons appeared swollen and organic. Oxfords arrived with rigid, exaggerated shapes. Some pairs even mimicked digital glitching by means of metallic perforations and flashes of unexpected colour, while others were dipped in deep, glossy finishes that felt almost too polished to trust.
While each design was noteworthy in a novel way, nothing compared to the red monsters that had nearly every fashionista making space for them in their closets.
Easily the piece de resistance, the monster shoes were furry, oversized, and deliberately absurd. They toed (or clawed) the line between luxury and creature design. In this case, we'll happily call it luxurious creature design.
Jaden's approach to menswear defeats tunnel vision in order to allow his imagination to produce genuine range. He reportedly imagined multiple generations of men coming together in one space. Classic shapes sat beside distorted ones. Refinement was evident, but it was always interrupted in the most artistic ways possible.
The Smith Effect, Front Row and Fully Present
While the collection held its own, the presence of the Smith family added a layer of warmth that was impossible not to feel. With his family in full attendance, we can't help but be reminded that the Smiths are all brimming with talent.
Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith, Willow Smith, Trey Smith, and Adrienne Banfield-Norris all attended the show in Paris, turning the presentation into a rare full-family moment in the middle of Fashion Week.
The full force of support poured heart into a project that was already red with Jaden's love for his craft.
Red Sole Surrealism: Walking Into a New Era
With Jaden Smith at the helm, Christian Louboutins are becoming even more iconic in every direction. The same luxury brand that introduced the legendary red soles are now crafting shoes fit for the most daring style adventurers.
If the assignment is delivering a Paris Fashion Week showcase that gains the attention of style authorities while making mom and dad proud, then Jaden Smith is a shoo-in.
