A Dollar Tree Discount?
A Reddit discussion posted on Monday, 21 September similarly featured users claiming they had spotted the products at Dollar Tree, with several immediately bringing up Star's comments about TJ Maxx. The reports have not been independently confirmed by Dollar Tree or Jeffree Star Cosmetics.
In 2019, after fans alerted him to Jeffree Star lipsticks being sold at Burlington, Star said the products were expired and had allegedly been stolen from a destruction pile. He stressed that his brand was not a discount operation.
At the time, Star famously compared his company with discount retailers, saying, 'this ain't Marshalls and TJ Maxx' and insisting, 'my brand is not discount. This is Jeffree Star'. His attitude towards TJ Maxx became part of his public image, with later coverage recalling that he had mocked the idea of beauty brands ending up on the chain's shelves.
