Karl-Anthony Towns may be leading the New York Knicks through their biggest NBA Finals moment in decades, but there is another familiar face drawing attention courtside: his fiancée, Jordyn Woods. As Towns helps push the Knicks closer to a long-awaited championship, Woods has become a constant presence throughout the playoff run, turning heads with her support, style and social media moments.
But long before the NBA Finals spotlight, Towns and Woods had quietly built a relationship rooted in friendship and shared loss. What started through mutual friends eventually grew into one of basketball's most closely watched couples, with the pair now preparing for marriage while embracing the biggest chapter of Towns' career.
A Friendship That Became Something More
Towns and Woods first met through mutual friends and spent years as close mates before going public as a couple in late 2020. Both had experienced significant personal loss around that time. Towns lost his mother, Jacqueline Cruz, to COVID-19 complications, while Woods had lost her father, sound engineer John Woods, to cancer in 2017. That shared experience shaped the foundation of their relationship.
On Christmas Day 2025, after five years together, Towns proposed on a New York City rooftop with an emerald-cut diamond ring. The couple announced the engagement on Instagram.
KAT Is Carrying the Knicks
Towns has been the standout player through the first two games of the series against the San Antonio Spurs, with the Knicks winning both on the road to take a 2-1 series lead. He posted 18 points and 12 rebounds in Game 1, then 21 points and 13 rebounds in the nail-biting Game 2. His shooting efficiency across the two games has been remarkable for a seven-footer, shooting 56% from the field and 43% from three.
The defensive contribution has been equally notable. Matched up against Victor Wembanyama for much of the series, Towns has held the Spurs' superstar to 36.8% shooting in direct matchups. This is a telling number for a player who spent years fielding questions about his defence.
Woods Is Building Her Own Story
While KAT has been doing his thing on the floor, Woods has carved out her own presence in the stands. She has not missed a game since the playoffs began, and her social media presence throughout has given fans a candid window into the Knicks' Finals run. Her fashion has drawn attention too, particularly a custom Knicks cowboy hat that went viral online.
When the NBA's no-bag policy at Finals venues became a talking point, Woods turned it into a product launch, dropping a limited-edition version of the brand's Stunt Sandal in the shade 'Summer Citrus'. 'We heard bags aren't allowed tonight... Don't worry, we're running a new play', she announced on Instagram. It landed well because it felt spontaneous rather than calculated.
What's Next for the Couple
Off the court and away from the cameras, the pair are also quietly planning the next big moment in their personal lives. The couple relocated to New York together after Towns was traded to the Knicks in 2024.
A source close to them told Page Six that Woods is currently navigating both the Finals and the final stages of wedding planning: 'She's shining. She's super excited, and nervous at the same time because it's a lot'. For Towns and Woods, it is shaping up to be quite a year.
