Law Roach has drawn criticism after discussing why Keke Palmer fired him as her stylist, revealing that he struggled to create her looks while she kept her pregnancy private. The celebrity stylist, known for his work with Zendaya, said he had wanted to style her baby bump and explore maternity fashion, but Palmer had other plans.

Roach discussed the experience during a light-hearted podcast conversation, but some social media users accused him of shaming the actress for keeping her pregnancy private.

Why Keke Palmer Fired Law Roach

During an appearance on the Aspire with Emma Grede podcast, Roach casually recalled how his professional relationship with Palmer came to an end. He explained that he struggled to get the looks right and understood why she decided to work with someone else.

'It was a business decision that she should have made', Roach said, recalling Palmer's explanation for firing him. He also recalled Palmer telling him: 'You may be the best artist in the world, but you're not the best stylist for me'.

Roach then explained that Palmer was pregnant but did not want the news shared publicly, which affected the direction he wanted to take with her wardrobe. He admitted he was excited about creating looks around her baby bump, but acknowledged that announcing the pregnancy was entirely her decision.

'I'm like, "Oh you're pregnant", I wanna dress the bump, I wanna do these things... and I had stories to tell about that but she didn't want that', Roach said.

The conversation was lighthearted, with Roach and Grede smiling as they discussed the experience. Still, some social media users took issue with Roach describing Palmer as having been 'lying' about her pregnancy.

Fans Defend Actress's Right to Privacy

Some social media users accused Roach of shaming Palmer for keeping her pregnancy private, while others criticised the podcast host's laughter during the discussion. They felt the conversation could have been handled more sensitively, even though it was not a heated exchange.

One commenter also took issue with how Roach described Palmer, writing: 'If SHE wants to keep it hidden she will and she's not 'lying' to anyone about it, she's just keeping it private. She doesn't owe anything to anyone lmao?'

Others noted that pregnancy can affect women's careers, making Palmer's decision to protect her privacy understandable. 'Many women have lost jobs opportunities, because of pregnancy. His judgment of a single woman protecting her personal life and livelihood is distasteful and inappropriate', one user wrote.

Critics also questioned Roach's focus on styling Palmer's baby bump when she had chosen to keep it hidden. While Roach acknowledged that the decision was hers to make, some felt his comments placed too much emphasis on his own creative plans.

A Look Back at Their Partnership

Palmer and Roach had worked together before her pregnancy, although the exact date of their initial collaboration has not been publicly confirmed. They later worked together again while Palmer was pregnant in 2022, but their different approaches to styling led her to decide that he was not the right stylist for her.

The pair discussed their experience during a panel linked to Roach's book, How to Build a Fashion Icon: Notes on Confidence from the World's Only Image Architect, in October 2024. Palmer had announced her pregnancy while hosting Saturday Night Live in December 2022 and welcomed her son, Leodis Andrellton Jackson, in February 2023.
