Love Is Blind US star Aneha Singh has responded to racist abuse from viewers following criticism of her relationship with Cam Halloran. The reality television contestant reported receiving messages targeting her background, including demands that she leave the country.
She addressed these messages while responding to criticism of her conduct on the dating show. In a Vulture interview, Aneha described several comments she received from viewers.
'I've had comments from people saying, "Go back to your country. Go on Love Is Blind India. Go find an auntie to set you up. You don't belong here. You smell like curry." While telling me I'm racist. Make that make sense,' she explained.
She acknowledged that scenes discussing Cam's race and religion may have shaped viewers' perceptions. She added that the controversy allowed some individuals to direct racist abuse toward her.
Backlash Over Cam's Race
Aneha faced criticism after discussing with Cam how her parents might respond to their relationship. During the show, when asked whether her parents' concerns were related to religion or Cam's race, Aneha said it was the latter.
However, in a separate Instagram statement, Aneha said neither Cam's race nor his religion was an issue for her family. She also emphasised that cultural pride should not be interpreted as prejudice.
'I want to take a moment to clarify something that I feel has been misunderstood,' she shared. 'My family and I have always been incredibly accepting of people from all walks of life, regardless of their race, religion, or cultural background. Cam being white or not being Hindu was never an issue for me or my family.'
Viewers Remain Divided
Reactions on Reddit demonstrated a range of opinions regarding Aneha's explanation. While some users questioned her intentions, others defended her position.
One commenter who criticised her clarification wrote, 'She's literally full of shit and using her family/religion as a scapegoat because she does NOT like Cam! He needs to drop her unlikable ass.'

Conversely, another user challenged the criticism, arguing that concerns about cultural expectations do not inherently make Aneha racist. 'If Aneha actually liked him she's navigating something really tricky and definitely falling flat but yeah her pointing out her parents' issues doesn't make HER racist,' the commenter wrote.

Addresses On-Screen Behaviour
The contestant also reflected on additional moments that contributed to the criticism, including her initial meeting with Cam outside the pods. During this encounter, Aneha commented on his appearance and suggested he consider a different haircut and a piercing.
She later apologised in an interview with Netflix's Tudum, explaining that she meant her comments as flirtation but acknowledged how they came across. In a separate interview with Swooon, Aneha stated she postponed their discussion because Cam had been drinking. She believed a later date would lead to a more constructive exchange.
Where Aneha and Cam Stand
Aneha and Cam did not marry in the Season 11 finale of Love Is Blind, which aired on 4 November. At the altar, Aneha hesitated before telling Cam she wanted to continue dating but was not ready for marriage.
Cam expressed confusion about her response and questioned its implications for their relationship. He later stated he was unsure whether they would remain together after the ceremony. Aneha later confirmed in an interview that both she and Cam are now single.
