Nature's Own Bread ended its partnership with TikTok food influencer Kimmy King on 28 October after a video in which she referred to a Black woman as a 'monkey' prompted accusations of racism online.

King, who posts food preparation and family content under the TikTok username @honestlymum, deleted the video and later apologised for her words. Nature's Own confirmed that its partnership with the creator had concluded and said it had no plans to work with her again.

Deleted TikTok Video Sparks Backlash

The dispute began with criticism of King's parenting content. King said a woman had accused her of not feeding her children enough food in a comment on a post linked to her work with Nature's Own.

'Someone went out of their way to say that I don't feed my kids enough food,' King said in the video. She said she had blocked the commenter and objected to the criticism appearing on sponsored content.

'Imagine being that miserable that you came and commented on my job,' King said. She identified the commenter as a Black woman in her account of the exchange; the woman's identity and the original comment have not been independently confirmed.

King then said, 'Don't worry, one monkey doesn't stop the show,' before adding, 'and I do mean monkey.' The remarks prompted accusations of racism from people who viewed the clip.

The video was subsequently deleted, but copies circulated on social media. X user Chris Cadence shared the footage in a post dated 29 October 2026, criticising the language King used.

King's TikTok account is linked from a Linktree profile under her name, which identifies her as @honestlymum. Her follower count at the time of the incident could not be independently confirmed.

Nature's Own Bread Confirms End of Partnership

Nature's Own addressed the controversy in a public statement confirming that its relationship with King was over.

'We're aware of the recent comments made by an influencer we previously partnered with,' the company said. 'We do not condone racism or discriminatory language of any kind. Our partnership has concluded, and we have no plans to work with this individual in the future.'

The statement did not disclose when the partnership formally ended or whether its conclusion involved any financial penalties. It also did not establish whether the company's decision preceded or followed King's public apology.

The Jasmine BRAND reported on 28 October 2026 that Nature's Own had removed social media posts featuring King after the video attracted criticism. The outlet also reported that King had disabled comments on her social media accounts.

King had featured the bread brand in paid promotional content. The original criticism she described was directed at material she associated with that partnership.

King Apologises for Offensive Remark

King later apologised publicly, acknowledging that the way she emphasised the phrase was hurtful in the context of the person she was addressing. 'I want to sincerely apologize,' King said. 'I used a phrase, but the way I emphasized it, particularly in the context of who I was addressing, was insensitive and understandably hurtful.'

'I was frustrated and allowed my emotions in the moment to influence how I responded, but I should have been more thoughtful with my words,' she continued. 'I'm human. I got it wrong, and I'm genuinely sorry to the people I hurt or offended.'

The apology did not change Nature's Own's publicly stated position that the partnership had concluded. As of 2 November 2026, no renewed partnership between King and the bread company had been announced.
