Manni L. Perez has reignited speculation that she plays Lucia Caminos in Grand Theft Auto VI. Following a recent Instagram livestream, fans began closely analyzing her interactions and notable silence regarding the highly-anticipated game's casting.
A recording of Perez's livestream was shared on Reddit on 25 October, with the post titled 'Lucia aka Manni Perez went live on Instagram.' There, it showed a clip of Perez speaking while fans of the game kept asking her about her alleged role in GTA VI. Throughout the clip, many fans thought that she appeared to be awkwardly ignoring the topic as she focused on other subjects.
Fans discussing the broadcast speculated about why Perez did not directly address questions connecting her to the game. Some interpreted her apparent avoidance as a possible sign that she was restricted from discussing a confidential project, while others questioned whether she was Lucia at all.
Why Fans Believe Perez Plays Lucia
The theory surrounding Perez has circulated online since GTA VI's first trailer introduced Lucia, one of the game's two main protagonists. Fans began comparing the character's face and voice with the actress, who has appeared in television productions including Blindspot, The Blacklist, Jessica Jones, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
The actress has long been linked to the female protagonist because of her resemblance to the character. Fans also noted Perez and Caminos shared similar voices. They also pointed out that her previous work on the Grand Theft Auto franchise would make her a contender for the new game.
According to gaming outlet GTA BOOM, Perez also voiced an unnamed blackjack dealer in GTA Online's 2019 Diamond Casino update. That previous credit gives fans a tangible connection between the actress and Rockstar's game franchise, although it does not prove that she was subsequently cast as Lucia.
The resemblance between Perez and the fictional character has also become a central part of the theory. Online comparisons have circulated for years, with players examining photographs and clips from the actress's television appearances alongside footage of Lucia.
Another frequently discussed clue comes from Perez's past interviews. On one hand, in an appearance on The Just Acting Up Show, she denied her alleged involvement in GTA VI. In other interviews about her career, however, she described receiving auditions and working on projects whose identities were initially concealed from her.
Those comments have been re-examined by fans searching for clues about the game's still-unannounced lead performers.
Perez's Instagram Livestream Reaction
The latest Reddit discussion centres on Perez's brief return to live social media. The recording gave fans another opportunity to see and hear the actress, but it did not provide an official announcement about her casting.
Commenters reacted to her demeanour, voice, and interactions, with some expressing excitement at the possibility that she could be the person behind Lucia. Others questioned the assumption, pointing out that a resemblance or similar voice is not enough to establish that an actor performed a game's motion capture or voice work.
The idea that Perez was deliberately avoiding questions about GTA VI has also fuelled speculation. Some fans believe an actor connected to a major unreleased game might be prohibited from confirming their role before the publisher makes an announcement.
Rockstar's 'GTA VI' Casting Mystery
Rockstar has kept the identities of Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval's performers under wraps, leaving players to rely on unofficial theories. In September, GTA BOOM reiterated that the studio had not officially confirmed the game's cast. Lucia is an important figure in GTA VI, which follows her and Jason as they become entangled in criminal activity across the fictional state of Leonida.
GTA VI is scheduled for release on 19 November 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Interest in its cast remains high.
