Perrie Edwards finally said 'I do' to footballer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. The ceremony took place at the Igreja Matriz de Estoi, a stunning 16th-century marble church in the Algarve.

The whole day seemed like something out of a romance novel, complete with a vintage white Mercedes, a lace gown, white lilies, and multicoloured smoke bursting into the sky as the newlyweds sealed their vows. However, for fans of the former Little Mix star, one question lingered louder than the church bells: Where were the other members of the group?

Little Mix Bandmates Were Invited

Although it's unclear whether Leigh-Anne Pinnock attended the event, sources indicate that both she and Jade Thirlwall were on the guest list. Thirlwall was unable to attend due to a schedule conflict with the Primavera Sound Festival in Porto.

The three have maintained a genuine connection since Little Mix's hiatus in 2022, having been spotted at casual get-togethers including a barbecue at Edward's mum's house as recently as last year.

The one notable absence was Jesy Nelson, who left Little Mix back in December 2020 for mental health reasons. Just days before the wedding, Edwards appeared on Jamie Laing's Great Company and candidly described Nelson as having been 'difficult' and urged her former bandmate to 'take some accountability' for her actions. She also made clear that she no longer has space for that kind of dynamic in her life.

This sparked a reaction from Nelson's family, highlighting the ongoing tension between them. The whole episode made it obvious that an invitation to a sun-soaked Portuguese wedding was never on the cards.

A Deliberately Small Guest List

Despite having celebrity status, their wedding was never intended to be a star-studded affair. Edwards and Oxlade-Chamberlain, both 32, decided to keep the guest list intimate, inviting around 70 close friends and family members.

The reception was held at the nearby Parrilla Natural restaurant, and even the locals in the square were unaware that the couple was getting married. That intimacy was very much the point. So, the absence of certain faces wasn't necessarily a snub, but rather reflective of the kind of day they wanted to create.

Oxlade-Chamberlain's father, former footballer Mark Chamberlain, was in attendance, along with his brother Christian and several of Alex's football mates, including Danny Welbeck, Kieran Gibbs, Carl Jenkinson, and Harrison Reed. On Edwards's side, her mum, Debbie and sister, Caitlin, were among the six bridesmaids. Their children, four-year-old son Axel and baby daughter Alanis, were also present and played a special role in the celebrations.

Perrie Edwards Finally Gets Her Happy Ending

The week leading up to the wedding, the little family spent time at Quinta do Lago, an upscale resort in the Algarve. When asked about the dynamics of their relationship, Edwards states: 'I just feel safe with Alex. I feel just content and happy, and it's not an effort'.

The couple got engaged in June 2022 after Oxlade-Chamberlain proposed on a beach, and after four years of planning (and apparently second-guessing the Portugal venue at one point), they pulled it off beautifully.

Pierre Edwards looked glowing in a long lace dress, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was incredibly dapper in his classic black suit, which complemented her perfectly.
