Prada has taken underwear-inspired styling beyond clothing at Milan Fashion Week, sending models down the runway in exposed bras while introducing a bra-shaped bag as part of its spring/summer 2027 collection. The Italian fashion house presented the collection on Tuesday, 22 September 2026, with designers Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons placing skirts at the centre of the show.
One model appeared in a grey bandeau-style top while carrying a matching bra-shaped bag on her upper arm. The accessory appeared alongside oversized jackets, low-slung skirts, knitwear and more conventional handbags in a collection that combined underwear-inspired pieces with familiar wardrobe staples. Emilia Clarke, Uma Thurman, Naomi Watts and Sadie Sink were among the celebrities attending the presentation.
Prada Turns a Bra Into a Handbag
The bra-shaped bag was one of the collection's more unusual accessories. A model carried the grey accessory on her upper arm while wearing a matching bandeau top. The design took the shape of an undergarment and applied it to a handbag, extending the collection's use of bra silhouettes beyond clothing.
The show also featured more conventional handbags, including slim shoulder styles with elongated straps. Black leather, emerald-green finishes and snakeskin textures appeared among the accessories shown on the runway.
At the time of publication, the reports reviewed did not provide a confirmed retail price, release date or sales plan for the bra bag. The collection was presented at the Deposito at Fondazione Prada, the contemporary art institution established by Miuccia Prada and Patrizio Bertelli.

Models Wear Exposed Bras and Low-Slung Skirts
The accessories formed part of a collection featuring exposed bras, bandeau tops, skirts and oversized outerwear.
The opening look featured a black lace bralette paired with a bright red skirt worn low on the hips. Other models appeared in bandeau tops, exposed bras and skirts with high splits. One look combined a black bra with a pleated skirt and a bright green handbag.
Several outfits were styled without shirts or blouses, leaving bras or bandeau tops as the principal upper-body garment. Oversized jackets and outerwear appeared alongside these pieces, while some skirts sat low on the hips.
Sleeveless knitwear also featured throughout the presentation, with pieces worn loosely over the body. Hair styling included textured hair, relaxed buns and ponytails. The collection additionally featured distinctive eyewear, including sunglasses with a partially open frame.
Across the show, Prada paired exposed undergarments with skirts, jackets, knitwear and other wardrobe pieces rather than presenting the bras as a standalone theme.
Why Prada Made Skirts the Focus
Despite attention surrounding the bra-shaped bag, skirts were a central component of Prada's spring/summer 2027 presentation.
Prada and Simons explored different interpretations of the skirt throughout the collection. The designs included A-line shapes, pleated styles, embellished pieces and simpler versions combined with different tops and outerwear.
Some skirts were constructed as wraps secured with broad Velcro bands, with crystal embellishments incorporated into the fastening. Other designs featured ribbons, bows and more structured shapes.
The collection also used contrasting fabrics and finishes, including coated cotton made to resemble leather. Prada has previously discussed the versatility of skirts and the different ways they can be combined with other garments.
That approach was reflected in the presentation, where skirts appeared with bras, knitwear, jackets and shirts. Rather than relying on one skirt silhouette, the collection presented variations in length, construction, material and styling.

The Milan Fashion Week presentation attracted a prominent group of guests. Emilia Clarke, known for Game of Thrones, attended alongside Uma Thurman, whose film credits include Kill Bill. Naomi Watts, Sadie Sink, Naomi Ackie, Alexa Chung and Nara Smith were also identified among those attending.
British Vogue's coverage additionally featured Hunter Schafer, Maya Hawke, Molly Gordon and Camila Mendes at the Prada presentation. The Independent reported that Prada and Simons received a standing ovation when they appeared to take their bow following the show.
Underwear-Inspired Styling Across Fashion Week
Prada's presentation came amid a broader use of underwear-inspired styling across spring/summer 2027 collections. Erdem, Simone Rocha and Burberry had also incorporated bras into runway looks. Those presentations included bras layered over shirts or visible beneath sheer blouses.
Prada's collection included looks in which bras and bandeau tops were worn without an additional shirt, alongside skirts and other garments. The bra bag applied the same visual reference to an accessory. Other Prada looks incorporated knee-length skirts, sleeveless V-neck knitwear and tailored jackets.
Eveningwear provided further combinations, including heavier leather jackets worn with lighter garments and embellished skirts paired with camisoles. The collection therefore featured underwear-inspired pieces alongside tailoring, knitwear, skirts and outerwear rather than relying exclusively on one style of dress.
Prada's Bra Bag Release
The unusual bag has drawn attention because of its distinctive shape and its connection to the underwear-inspired styling seen in other pieces of the collection.
