Blake Lively's alcoholic cocktail brand Betty Booze is reportedly winding down three years after its 2023 launch, alongside its sister brand Betty Buzz. People Magazine reported on 5 November 2026 that a source familiar with the drinks business said it was winding down and would cease operations.

This report renewed attention on internal correspondence describing retailers' concerns about publicity surrounding the actress and its possible effect on sales. The report covers both Betty Booze's canned cocktails and Betty Buzz's non-alcoholic mixers. Neither Lively nor the company has publicly confirmed the decision.

Retailers Raised Concerns About Sales

Internal emails disclosed in May 2026 described concerns among potential business partners and retailers during the promotional campaign for Lively's 2024 film It Ends With Us. The correspondence predates the later legal settlement between Lively and the film's director and co-star, Justin Baldoni.

In an email dated 10 September 2024, a member of Lively's drinks team described a conversation with a representative identified as the Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits Kroger vice president. The writer said there was 'a negative taste in Kroger's mouth' following publicity surrounding Lively's film promotion and that sales would be closely monitored.

The internal message said the retailer expected a possible negative sales impact and wanted to know how Lively might address the public response. It does not establish that subsequent sales fell because of the controversy.

Other internal correspondence described concerns involving Princess Cruises and Brightline. A message attributed to a Princess Cruises executive referred to unease within its legal and ethics compliance team. Another described hesitation over a proposed Brightline partnership while publicity surrounding Lively continued. Neither message independently establishes a final corporate decision.

Lively alleged sexual harassment and retaliation in her legal dispute with Baldoni, who denied the allegations. A judge dismissed several claims before the parties settled the remaining dispute on 4 May 2026, ahead of a scheduled trial. The settlement terms were not publicly disclosed.

From Betty Buzz Mixers to Betty Booze Cocktails

Lively launched Betty Buzz in 2021 with non-alcoholic sparkling mixers that could be served alone or combined with spirits. She introduced Betty Booze in 2023 with tequila- and bourbon-based ready-to-drink cocktails, later expanding the range to include vodka iced teas.

At Betty Buzz's launch, Lively said in a public statement that she did not drink alcohol but enjoyed making cocktails and bringing people together. This later drew criticism from some social media users, although her personal decision not to drink does not establish the scale or cause of any consumer response.

Meanwhile, Betty Booze initially launched through Total Wine & More. In April 2024, the Betty Booze company announced a national distribution partnership with Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits, with plans to expand into retailers including Whole Foods and Sprouts.

Trademark Records and Questions About the Wind-Down

Reports of the possible shutdown also followed the abandonment of the company's applications for additional products under the Betty Buzz and Betty Booze line, including beer-based and non-alcoholic beverages.

The principal Betty Buzz and Betty Booze trademarks remained active in the records cited by news outlets. An active trademark can indicate continuing registration or legal protection, but it does not prove that the associated drinks are still being manufactured or sold.

Inc. reported on 5 November 2026 that Betty Buzz's most recent identified Instagram post was dated 5 April 2026, while Betty Booze's was dated 28 September 2026.

Neither Lively nor the company has publicly specified a final operating date or explained the reported decision. No public evidence establishes that the earlier retailer concerns caused the reported shutdown.
