Elizabeth Banks has sparked speculation online after sharing photos from the US Open featuring Amy Adams, while Pink was left out.
The singer was seated alongside Banks and Adams during the event. However, she did not appear in the photos shared by Banks. The apparent omission prompted discussion on Reddit, where users questioned whether Banks had deliberately left Pink out of the pictures, even though no evidence shows that Banks intentionally cropped the singer from any image.
Neither Banks nor Pink appears to have publicly addressed the speculation.
The three stars attended the US Open women's singles final at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York on Saturday, 12 September. Elena Rybakina defeated defending champion Aryna Sabalenka 6-4, 5-7, 6-2 to claim the women's singles title. The match also attracted several other celebrity guests, including Brad Pitt, Paris Hilton and Andrew Garfield.
Banks' Photos Prompt Questions Online
The discussion began after a post appeared on Reddit's r/Fauxmoi featuring screenshots of Banks' photos from the US Open. The post was titled: 'Elizabeth Banks posts pics of herself and Amy Adams at the US Open. Cuts out Pink or any mention of her.'
The discussion focused on the fact that P!nk appeared to be sitting beside Banks and Adams during the match, despite not appearing in the photos being discussed.
Some Reddit users suggested the omission could have been intentional. Others urged people not to read too much into the images or the celebrities' seating arrangements. One commenter pointed out that celebrities attending major sporting events are often seated together through shared invitations, sponsors or hospitality arrangements. Another suggested that Banks may simply have chosen to share photographs centred on herself and Adams.
One Reddit user also wrote that the stars may have 'just happened to have been sitting next to each other and everybody jumped to conclusions'. Another suggested that celebrities can be seated together at major events without necessarily being friends.
That possibility is supported by the wider event photography.
Pink, Banks and Adams Photographed Together
Official US Open coverage confirms that Pink, Banks and Adams were together in the stands during the women's final. The tournament's coverage included a photograph captioned: 'Pink!, Elizabeth Banks, and Amy Adams in the stands on Day Fourteen of the 2026 US Open at USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Centre.'
Reuters also photographed the three stars together during the match. Its image description identifies 'actress Elizabeth Banks, actress Amy Adams and singer Pink' in the stands as they watched the women's singles final.
UPI similarly published a photograph showing Pink, Adams and Banks watching Rybakina play Sabalenka at Arthur Ashe Stadium.
Just Jared also reported that Pink watched the match alongside Adams and Banks. Its coverage included an image captioned 'Pink shares a laugh with Elizabeth Banks and Amy Adams during women's finals at the 2026 US Open'.
The wider event photography therefore establishes that Pink was physically present alongside Banks and Adams.
What remains unclear is why she did not appear in the photos shared by Banks. It is not known whether Banks deliberately selected photographs that excluded Pink or simply chose images that focused on her interaction with Adams.
Social Media Users Debate the Omission
The Reddit conversation became more speculative as users discussed what Banks' photo choices could mean.
Some commenters suggested that Banks may have been trying to distance herself from Pink by not mentioning her or including her in her social media posts. However, there is no independent evidence supporting that interpretation.
Others pushed back against the idea, arguing that there is no way to know Banks' reasoning based solely on the photographs. Another user suggested that the situation could simply be a case of celebrities being seated together at a major event. The US Open regularly attracts high-profile guests, making shared seating arrangements unsurprising.
The discussion has therefore produced different interpretations of the same photographs. Some users believe the omission may have been deliberate, while others see no reason to assume there was a hidden message behind the images.
