The final hours of fitness influencer Connor Murphy have become the focus of growing attention after his girlfriend revealed that his behaviour was 'unusual' shortly before his apparent drowning in Thailand. The 32-year-old content creator, who built a huge online following through his bodybuilding journey and 'looksmaxxing' content, died in an incident that has left fans and those close to him searching for answers.
While investigators have ruled out obvious signs of assault, many questions remain unanswered as authorities await the results of an autopsy and toxicology examination. With reports of erratic behaviour before he entered the water and his girlfriend describing his actions as unlike anything she had seen before, Murphy's final hours have become the centre of an ongoing investigation.
Police Responded to Disturbance
According to local reports, police were called to a luxury rental property in Samut Prakan province, just south of Bangkok, after receiving reports that an American man was behaving erratically. Before entering a nearby lake, Murphy was allegedly involved in an argument with a security guard at the residential village. A staff member also reportedly filmed him shortly before he walked towards the water.
Witnesses later told local media that Murphy swam for several minutes but appeared to lose strength while still in the lake. Although people nearby realised he was struggling, they reportedly did not enter the water because the lake was more than 10 metres deep, making a rescue too dangerous.
Divers Recovered His Body From the Lake
Emergency divers from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation searched the lake for around 30 minutes before locating Murphy's body approximately 20 metres from the shore. Police later confirmed that an initial examination found no visible signs of assault.

His body was transferred to Ramathibodi Chakri Naruebodindra Hospital for a full post-mortem examination. Investigators are now waiting for both the autopsy and toxicology reports, which are expected to provide a clearer picture of what happened during Murphy's final hours.
Girlfriend Recalls His Unusual Behaviour
Murphy had been staying at the luxury villa with his 22-year-old girlfriend, identified by local media only as Bee. The couple had reportedly rented the property under a three-month agreement. Speaking with police, Bee said she had never known Murphy to use drugs and claimed his behaviour on the day of the incident was unlike anything she had previously witnessed.
She also revealed another unusual discovery. According to investigators, black and yellow paint had been splashed across parts of the property, including furniture, household appliances and decorative items. Bee reportedly believed the damage happened overnight while she was asleep in another room, adding another unanswered question to an already puzzling investigation.
Inside the Villa
The homeowner reportedly valued the villa at around 22 million baht, or roughly £480,000, and had rented it to Murphy for approximately 35,000 baht per month. As officers examined the property, they documented black and yellow paint splashed across parts of the house while gathering statements from witnesses and those staying there.
Although investigators confirmed there were no immediate signs of violence, they have not yet reached a final conclusion about the circumstances surrounding Murphy's death. Authorities are continuing their investigation as they await the results of the post-mortem examination and toxicology tests.
From Bodybuilder to Influencer
Murphy built a loyal audience of more than 2.7 million followers across YouTube and Instagram by documenting his transformation from a skinny teenager into a competitive bodybuilder and fitness model. He also became associated with the online 'looksmaxxing' community, a movement focused on improving physical appearance through fitness, grooming and, in some cases, more extreme methods.
His social media accounts now stand as a record of his final days. His last Instagram upload appeared on 3 July, showing him casually kicking a football around inside a luxury home, while his final YouTube video was posted less than a week before his death.
Investigation Continues
Murphy's death remains under investigation, with toxicology and post-mortem findings expected to play a key role in explaining what happened. Friends confirmed his death through social media on 8 July, prompting an outpouring of tributes from followers who had watched his fitness journey for years.
While police have ruled out obvious signs of assault, the combination of reported erratic behaviour, the unexplained condition of the villa and his girlfriend's description of his actions as 'unusual' means many questions remain unanswered until investigators complete their findings.
