Gisele Bündchen is entering a new chapter of her life. The 46-year-old supermodel appears on the latest cover of i-D, where she opens up about motherhood, work and the changes that have come with having a third child.
Bündchen welcomed her youngest child, a baby boy, in February 2025. Now 46, she welcomed her third child at 44. The child is her first with Joaquim Valente, whom she is now married to. Looking back on becoming a mother again, Bündchen described the experience as 'such a gift'. She said she is in a very different place in her life now.
'I don't have anything to prove,' Bündchen said in the interview.
Her comments reflect a change in her outlook. After decades in the spotlight, the model says she is less concerned about other people's opinions.
'I'm not defined by other people's opinions. I feel like I get to choose how I want to live my life,' she said.
Gisele Bündchen Puts Family First
Bündchen is already a mother to two older children, Benjamin and Vivian. She shares them with her former husband, retired NFL star Tom Brady.
Her youngest son has added another dimension to family life. Bündchen has spoken about how much she enjoys being present with her children and experiencing everyday moments with them. She also says motherhood has changed the way she approaches work.
The model told i-D that she turns down 99% of the jobs she is offered. Her decision often comes down to whether a job would take her away from her children. That can mean missing her daughter's volleyball games, spending less time at the park with her youngest son or missing her older son DJing.
For Bündchen, those moments matter more than they once did. She has described being in a different place in her life and has become more selective about the work she takes on.
Bündchen began modelling as a teenager in Brazil before moving to Tokyo at 15. She went on to become one of the most recognisable faces in fashion and one of the world's best-known supermodels.
The supermodel also spoke about the small moments she shares with her youngest child. In the interview, she recalled taking her son to a park in Miami. For her, everyday family moments have become increasingly important. She has also spoken about becoming a mother again at this stage of her life.
Gisele Bündchen's fitness routine
The i-D cover also puts Bündchen's fitness routine in focus.
The model remains active and told the magazine that exercise is part of her everyday life. Her routine includes weight training, Pilates and Yoga. She also enjoys activities such as surfing and paddleboarding.
For Bündchen, exercise is not simply about appearance. She said she works out every day because it is something she gets to do, rather than something she feels she has to do. She also revealed that she can now do pull-ups, something she said she could not do earlier in her life.
The accompanying i-D shoot shows Bündchen in a series of striking looks, including Victoria's Secret lingerie, while demonstrating her strength during a workout.
