A social media creator known online as G NUlEK has gone viral after wearing a lilac lace bralette to a 5.5 km running event in Bangkok, Thailand, on Saturday, 24 October, prompting social media users to tell her to wear a sports bra next time.
Posting under the username @_leksasi_ on Threads, she shared photos of herself participating in the SAT 62nd Anniversary Run in a lace-trimmed top, brown leggings, white socks and neon yellow trainers. However, much of the attention centred on her bralette, with users questioning whether it provided enough support for running.
Some users questioned her choice of top, while others gave unsolicited advice about appropriate workout clothing. The comments brought fresh attention to a creator who already has hundreds of thousands of followers on Instagram.
Who Is the Runner?
G NUlEK is a social media creator with an established following on Instagram, where she posts under the username @_leksasi_. Her account has approximately 330,000 followers and features fashion and lifestyle content, including summer outfits and travel photographs.
Her appearance at the SAT 62nd Anniversary Run has since drawn attention to her choice of athletic clothing, with the lace bralette becoming the subject of widespread commentary.
Bangkok Sports Complex 5.5 km Run
The SAT 62nd Anniversary Run: The Heart of Glory was held to mark 62 years of the Sports Authority of Thailand. The free 5.5 km event started at 6 am outside Indoor Stadium Huamark, with its route running through the authority's grounds. Organisers provided race bibs with timing chips, medals and T-shirts, and placed water stations at the 2 km and 4 km marks.
The event rules required runners to wear their bibs visibly on the front and pass three timing checkpoints. They did not specify what style of bra participants should wear. In the viral photos, G NUlEK's bib is attached to the front of her leggings, with her lace-trimmed top visible above it.
Lace Bralette Sparks Sports Bra Advice
One reply read, 'Girlie i don't think that's a sport bra.... But you do you girl'. Other commenters questioned why she chose a lace bralette for running, with several suggesting a proper sports bra would have been more suitable. The reactions quickly turned into a discussion about whether her outfit offered enough support for physical activity.
Some users poked fun at the unconventional running attire, while others made sarcastic remarks about her appearance. A few also questioned whether she had deliberately chosen the outfit to attract attention. Despite the mixed reactions, G NUlEK appeared unfazed in the photographs, smiling as she participated in the event.
Sports bra support has been examined extensively in exercise research. A study published in Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise on 12 October 2026 tested 27 recreational female runners using different combinations of sports bra support and running shoe cushioning. Researchers found that bra support affected breast acceleration and participants' ratings of comfort and support.
Olympic rowing champion Lola Anderson also described a properly fitted sports bra as 'the most important piece of kit for any female athlete' in remarks published by the University of Portsmouth in June 2025. Anderson, who won gold for Great Britain at Paris 2024, said wearing a supportive bra had improved her comfort. Her comments concerned athletic equipment generally, not the Bangkok runner's outfit.
The research cannot determine how much support this particular bralette offered or whether G NUlEK felt discomfort during the run. While commenters had plenty to say about her clothing, she captioned the photographs with just one word: 'Run'.
