Gypsy Rose Blanchard says she went home after a night of heavy drinking, took a knife to Ken Urker's headboard, and left him a note: 'Sleep with your one and only. -G.' By her own account, she also smashed a framed photo of the two of them and cut up a blanket she had made for him.

Blanchard described the night in a September 2025 phone call with her friend Amelia Bird, who is in prison. The Daily Mail obtained the recording. About a year later, Urker was found dead at his Louisiana home on 1 October, which would have been his 34th birthday, and her account has resurfaced. She said the incident began when she found a letter he had written to an ex.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard's Own Words About That Night

Blanchard said she stayed out until around five, drinking vodka, tequila, rum, and whiskey with a friend, then went home. She grabbed a knife in the kitchen, carved 'whore' in the headboard, and proceeded to smash a frame of them on the ground.

Afterward, she packed a suitcase, went to her parents' house, and sent Urker a string of cruel texts while still drunk, including 'I never wanna see you again.' The Daily Mail also obtained video of her destroying the blanket and screaming at him.

Urker replied, she said, that he would file for sole custody of their daughter, Aurora, who is now one, and called her a danger to herself and others. Blanchard told Bird she had not treated him as she should have and had always accused him of cheating. She also acknowledged how others saw it.

'Because of my history, it freaks people out,' she said.

Nobody Reported It

The Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office, which is investigating Urker's death, told the Daily Mail it knew about the headboard incident but that nothing was reported in the past year. Even if it had been, the office said, no charges would have followed because only personal property was damaged.

Urker's sister, Autumn, sees it differently. She said she felt nervous and worried when she heard about it. Six months later, she warned her brother that what she called a pattern could escalate, but she said the couple had reconciled and her concerns fell on deaf ears. She also alleges he received death threats and was doxxed before he died.

While I’m usually good at words…. right now, they hurt. I don’t know what to say. I miss you so much I just wish I could go back to that night and talk to you a little longer. We didn’t have to be the closest to love each other. And I will forever cherish that phone call that night. I’ll see you in Texas back home where we know you wanted to be. Fly high my big brother. We won’t forget about you down here 💔💔 #rip #kenurker #flyhigh #missingyou #mybrother

Either it was a furious row between two adults that ended with a wrecked bedroom, or, as his sister sees it, part of a pattern nobody around them took seriously. Both readings raise a question for an audience that followed Blanchard's relationships like a series: how closely was anyone looking? Nothing in the reports suggests producers or networks knew about the headboard.

Questions After Urker's Death

The couple split about a month before Urker died, and a source told Page Six, 'It was just a mutual agreement. They were co-parenting.' His cause of death has not been confirmed, although Blanchard's first statement called it an overdose. Her Instagram tribute said, 'You will always be my greatest love story.'

Online, plenty of people have already made up their minds, with reactions largely critical of Blanchard. Some questioned why she was ever freed, others said the recording confirmed what they had long suspected, and some took it as proof she has not changed. The facts are narrower: deputies are investigating Urker's death as drug-related, none of the coverage reviewed names a suspect, and the recording describes damage to a bedroom, not how he died.
