KATSEYE has officially joined the dark side in all-black outfits for their new single, 'Animal'.
For their pre-release concept photo drop, the global girl group traded in their brighter pop image for something darker but true to their signature commercially provocative aesthetic. Clad in patent leather, fur, sheer panels, and lingerie-esque attire, the members of Katseye were styled to take the world by blackout.
While the risque outfits were busy collecting likes and praise, another breed of fans have collectively zeroed in on something else entirely: Daniela's eyebrows. Or, more accurately, the lack of them.
The Brow That Broke the Internet
Within minutes of the photos dropping, social media turned into a full-blown eyebrow investigation unit. While a first glance may fool viewers into thinking her eyebrows had been shaved off, fans can rest easy knowing that they were merely bleached.
'Where's her eyebrows?' one fan asked bluntly.
'Bring back her eyebrows', another wrote, as if launching a global petition.
Someone else in the overflowing comment section followed up with: 'Her forehead got so big because of it 🤣🤣.'
Others tried to make sense of the look, comparing the bleached brows to everything from high-fashion editorials to Mia Goth-coded minimalism. Some even joked that Danielle had entered her 'Super Saiyan 3 era', while a few questioned whether the styling choice was an attempt to align her look more closely with fellow member, Manon.
With Manon currently on hiatus of unspecified length, fans have been speculating left and right. That said, the comment about making Daniela resemble Manon may have hit a sensitive chord with the fandom.
'she's mid. Daniela is beautiful', one Facebook user replied, while another called out the record label, 'Thanks HxG for making Daniela get more hate for wanting to make her look like Manon'.
High Fashion, High Risk, High Eyebrow Return?
To be fair, bleached eyebrows are not exactly new on the trend meter. The look has cycled through runways and red carpets for years, often used to strip the face back and let other features — or the outfit — take centre stage.
K-Pop fans are used to polished perfection, where visuals are as curated as the choreography. So when something feels off, even if it's intentional, they don't shy away from voicing it.
Still, not everyone is against the change. Some fans defended the look, pointing out that it adds edge, elevates the darker concept, and pushes Katseye further into high-fashion territory.
Others simply overtook the eyebrow debate though compliments: 'She still looks beautiful.'
Fashion First, Brows Second
If you zoom out — literally and figuratively — the 'Animal' concept is doing exactly what it set out to do, setting the tone for the group's upcoming EP titled 'WILD'.
And yes, maybe one member temporarily misplaced her eyebrows along the way, but half the fandom evidently thinks she looks great with or without them. Nevertheless, if the goal was to get people talking, consider it a mission accomplished.
In essence, Daniela may have fearlessly bleached her eyebrows, and the fandom decided to raise theirs.
