Kendall Jenner has been accused of 'putting on nothing' in a L'Oréal Paris foundation demonstration after Reddit commenters questioned the apparent absence of product on her make-up applicator. One called the application 'pure miming', pointing to an apparently bare puff and what they described as her already-made-up face.
The TikTok, released on 1 November, promotes Infaillible Cushion Foundation, with L'Oréal Paris encouraging viewers to build their base through successive layers. Instead, commenters focused on whether Jenner was visibly applying any foundation at all.
L'Oréal Paris Promises 'Flawless' Layers
Jenner repeatedly taps the puff against her face, but no foundation is visibly apparent on the applicator. The brand presents those movements as a way to build coverage, placing the application at the centre of the promotion.
'Tap to build your base, one flawless layer at a time,' reads the caption accompanying the TikTok. It then identifies the model and advertised product: '@Kendall Jenner wears INFAILLIBLE CUSHION FOUNDATION.'
Viewers Mock Jenner's Demo as 'Pure Miming'
On r/KUWTKsnark, a Reddit community devoted to Kardashian-Jenner criticism and discussion, users questioned the puff's appearance. Commenter celestial_chocolate wrote: 'Just pure miming. No product on the puff and already has a full face of makeup on.'
Others made the same accusation more briefly. Pitiful_Bit_5369 commented: 'Omg she put actually nothing on!!' RottenLychee asked: 'They know we can see that nothing is on that puff, right?' Meanwhile, sheneedstorelax wrote: 'im cryin there's really nothing on the puff 💀💀'

A TikTok commenter, married111, wrote 'Where ?' above an image of Jenner holding the dark puff near her face. No obvious foundation residue is visible on the applicator's surface in that image. The criticism also extended to the finished advertisement. Most-Contract9234 wrote: 'I'm surprised how that passed the final cut.'

The Reddit discussion contains both mockery and questions about the demonstration, with several users returning to the same detail: the puff. Many of the comments question why the puff seemed unused, and why Jenner couldn't just use the puff to put foundation on her face.
Commenters also questioned the usefulness of demonstrating foundation over an existing make-up look. Background_Book2414 asked: 'Why is she adding makeup to makeup already on her face?'
Kendall Jenner's L'Oréal Paris Partnership
L'Oréal Paris names Infaillible Cushion Foundation as the product Jenner wears, but the caption does not identify her shade or the quantity used. Its promotional message focuses on building a base rather than explaining how much foundation each tap should deposit.
The puff is the application tool, separate from the foundation cushion inside the compact. Its apparent-clean surface drew criticism, although that alone does not establish that it contains no product.
L'Oréal Paris announced Jenner as a global ambassador in July 2023, with her make-up campaigns scheduled to begin that autumn. The foundation promotion follows that established advertising relationship, which places her in the role of demonstrating the brand's products as well as appearing in its advertising.
The comments document accusations of miming, not proof that Jenner deliberately faked the application. No response from Jenner or L'Oréal Paris addressing the criticism was posted as of press time.
