Celebrity stylist Law Roach confirmed on Saturday, 19 September, that Kardashian is his newest client after dressing her for the opening night celebration of the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art in Los Angeles. Roach shared her look online with the short message, 'New client 💕.'
The news quickly caught attention because Roach is best known for his long partnership with Zendaya. He has helped shape her red-carpet style for about 15 years, from her early Disney days to major events and film press tours.
But some social media users saw Kardashian's latest hire as part of a much bigger pattern. One viral post accused her of taking talent already linked to other female stars, pointing to Jennifer Lopez's glam circle before asking why Kardashian was now working with Zendaya's famous stylist. The criticism raises a factual question, but the idea that Kardashian simply 'steals' other stars' teams is much harder to prove.
Law Roach Confirms New Client
Roach's first confirmed look for Kardashian came at the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art opening celebration on 19 September. He put her in a black-and-gold floral sequinned archival Yves Saint Laurent gown from the fashion house's Autumn/Winter 2004 collection, created during Tom Ford's time at the label. Kardashian finished the look with gold heels and her hair pulled back.

The dress itself also had celebrity history before Kardashian wore it. Céline Dion, another star Roach has worked with, wore the same design at the World Music Awards in 2004. That made Kardashian's first Roach-styled outfit another example of the stylist reaching into fashion history for his clients.
Roach has worked with a long list of famous names, including Dion, Megan Thee Stallion, Kerry Washington and Tom Holland. Still, his name is most closely tied to Zendaya, who became his first major client and has worked with him since she was a teenager. Kardashian joining that list was enough to start a new online debate.

That close link helps explain why Kardashian's new partnership caused such a strong reaction. For many fashion fans, Roach is not simply another celebrity stylist but a key part of Zendaya's public fashion image. However, Roach taking Kardashian on as a client does not mean he has stopped working with Zendaya.
Jennifer Lopez's Glam Team
The viral post also claimed Kardashian had previously hired beauty professionals associated with Jennifer Lopez. However, there is not enough reliable evidence to establish that Kardashian hired Lopez's makeup artist and hairstylist directly after the Office Romance press tour in the way the post suggests.
That distinction matters because celebrity beauty professionals commonly work with more than one famous client. Being photographed or credited with one celebrity does not necessarily make a makeup artist, hairstylist or stylist exclusive to that person.
Kardashian and Lopez have certainly shared creative talent. Hairstylist Chris Appleton has worked extensively with both women, along with other major stars. His career history shows that he received bookings with Lopez before also working with Kardashian, but the available evidence does not establish that Kardashian took him from Lopez.

What happens next may show how important the Roach partnership becomes for Kardashian. One outfit does not yet reveal whether he will handle most of her major appearances or work with her only on selected events, and neither Roach nor Kardashian has publicly laid out the full terms of their partnership.
Still, their first look made a clear statement. Kardashian stepped out in an archival Saint Laurent piece with a stylist known for turning clothes into major celebrity fashion moments, and Roach made their new working relationship public himself.
The social media criticism may continue, especially because Kardashian, Lopez and Zendaya are three of the most closely watched women in celebrity fashion. But the available record shows something less dramatic than 'stealing': major stars frequently work with overlapping groups of top creative talent, sometimes during the same periods of their careers.
