Zendaya made a surprise appearance at Prada Beauty's New York Photo Studio, bringing the star power behind Prada Paradoxe directly into an immersive customer experience centred on fragrance, make-up and personalised beauty consultations.

The actress, who serves as the global ambassador for Prada Paradoxe, appeared at the New York activation as visitors explored Prada Paradoxe Sweet Chemistry and the brand's Wisteria Makeup Collection.

The appearance offered an unexpected real-life extension of the campaign, placing Zendaya in the same space where customers could discover the products, have professional portraits taken and receive personalised consultations from Prada Beauty experts.

Rather than remaining solely the face of a fragrance campaign, Zendaya's presence connected Prada's high-profile celebrity partnership with the physical retail experience being offered to customers.

The Prada Paradoxe Photo Studio was created as an interactive beauty destination rather than a conventional product display, combining professional photography with fragrance and make-up discovery.

The New York activation took place at 45 Grand Street in SoHo on 12 and 13 September, coinciding with the busy New York Fashion Week period. Visitors were able to explore the latest Prada Beauty launches while receiving guidance and personalised recommendations.

At the centre of the experience was Prada Paradoxe Sweet Chemistry, the latest fragrance addition to the Paradoxe family. Its composition features blackcurrant syrup, orange blossom absolute and neroli milk accord, creating a floral-fruity interpretation of sweetness.

The launch was accompanied by the Wisteria Makeup Collection, which brings a cooler purple-toned aesthetic to the Prada Beauty range.

Products in the collection include the Wisteria Gleams balm, Wisteria and Violet blush shades and the Glycine eye pencil, allowing visitors to explore complementary make-up looks alongside the new fragrance.

With Zendaya appearing within the activation, the campaign moved naturally from advertising imagery into an environment where consumers could directly engage with the brand and its latest products.

A New Chapter for Prada Paradoxe

Zendaya's involvement is particularly significant because the New York appearance comes as Prada Beauty builds its latest chapter of the Paradoxe fragrance story around the actress.

She was announced as the global ambassador for Prada Paradoxe in August, alongside the launch of Sweet Chemistry. Her connection to the fragrance also predates the partnership, with the actress previously revealing that she had worn the original Paradoxe after discovering it at the Met Gala.

The new campaign gives Sweet Chemistry a major cinematic platform, with Zendaya starring in a campaign film directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Barry Jenkins.

The fragrance represents a fresh interpretation of the Paradoxe identity, with its combination of fruity and floral notes designed to complement the campaign's focus on sweetness.

That relationship between star, scent and storytelling was brought into sharper focus at the New York Photo Studio.

For customers visiting the activation, the experience was not simply about seeing the latest products on a shelf. It combined the fragrance launch with beauty discovery, professional portraits and personal consultations—before an unexpected appearance from the woman at the centre of Prada Paradoxe's latest campaign.

Zendaya's visit therefore gave Prada Beauty's New York activation an added layer of celebrity appeal while reinforcing the brand's broader strategy of turning a fragrance campaign into an experience consumers can physically step into.
