Madison Beer recalls how private videos she sent as a teenager were leaked and how a blackmailer later appeared to have 50 videos of her @madisonbeer/Instagram

Madison Beer has spoken about one of the most painful periods of her teenage years, recalling how private videos she sent to a boy she trusted were later shared without her consent.

The singer discussed the experience during an episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast with host Alex Cooper. Although clips from the interview resurfaced on social media in September 2026, the interview itself is not new. The episode originally aired in April 2023 and was later re-released on YouTube.

Beer said she was only 15 when she learned that one of her private videos was being passed around. She has said that some of the material involved had been made when she was as young as 13 or 14.

Madison Beer Says Blackmailer Had 50 Videos

Beer told Cooper that she had sent private Snapchat videos to a boy she knew and trusted from home. She said she believed the videos would disappear after being viewed and did not expect him to save or share them.

After one video began spreading, Beer said the situation became much worse. About two weeks later, she received an anonymous message containing a picture of a computer screen that appeared to show 50 videos of her.

Beer addressed people who might question why so many videos existed. 'I was a young horny kid,' she told Cooper, explaining that she had sent videos to a boy she liked and would not allow people to shame her for doing so.

Private Videos Were Shared Without Her Consent

Beer said she had known the boy for years and trusted him. In a first-person account, she explained that they had feelings for each other and exchanged pictures and videos while they were both young.

The situation changed when friends from home began contacting her about a video being shared. Beer said she soon found posts online offering to send people her private material, leaving her desperately trying to stop it from spreading.

The singer has made clear that she did not consent to the videos being made public. Her account therefore centres not simply on what she sent as a teenager, but on the fact that private material involving a minor was distributed without her permission.

The Leak Had a Lasting Effect

Beer said the response from adults around her made the experience even harder. According to the singer, she was told the situation was 'bad' and could damage her career, which initially led her to blame herself.

She also spent money trying to remove the material from the internet. Beer said she searched websites and social media herself for copies so that links could be sent for removal.

Years later, Beer said she came to understand that she had been the victim. She has also spoken about the serious mental health impact of the leak and blackmail, including suicidal thoughts and lasting trauma.

Beer Says the Boy Later Apologised

The story took another turn years later. In a 2025 interview, Beer revealed that the boy involved had contacted her and apologised for hurting her.

Beer said she now looks at the situation with more nuance because he was also young at the time. She said she did not necessarily believe he understood how badly his actions would affect her, while still recognising the serious harm that followed.

Her comments also show why the resurfaced 2026 clips need context. The viral quote about being a 'young horny kid' comes from a 2023 interview about non-consensual sharing and blackmail, rather than a new 2026 admission that Beer had recently revealed sending 'over 50' videos.
