Nike is bringing the colourful world of One Piece to its Air Max Plus line with a new collection inspired by three famous Devil Fruits. The highly awaited collaboration was officially unveiled on Sunday, 23 August, with the first releases set to arrive in September 2026.
The collection features three Air Max Plus sneakers based on the Gomu Gomu, Mera Mera and Ope Ope fruits. Each pair will cost around £132 ($180), with different release dates and locations planned for each design.
Nike and One Piece Bring Devil Fruits to Air Max Plus
The collaboration gives the classic Air Max Plus a major One Piece makeover. Nike has created new textured uppers for the three sneakers instead of simply adding small logos or graphics to an existing design.
Each shoe takes its colours and details from the Devil Fruit behind it. The collection includes a purple and green Gomu Gomu no Mi, a bright orange Mera Mera no Mi and a berry and green Ope Ope no Mi.
The shoes also feature a Nike-branded Jolly Roger on the tongue. The detail connects the sneakers to Monkey D. Luffy and gives the collection a clear link to the story.
Nike Is Releasing the Sneakers in Stages
Fans hoping to collect all three pairs will need to keep track of the different dates. Nike is not releasing every design in every market at the same time.
The key dates include:
- 4 September: Tokyo pop-up
- 12 September: Mera Mera no Mi at selected retailers
- 19 September: Ope Ope no Mi at selected retailers
- 25 September: Gomu Gomu no Mi through SNKRS in selected markets
- 16 to 18 October: Mera Mera no Mi in Australia
All three Air Max Plus sneakers have a retail price of £132 ($180). The wider collection will begin with regional events before the main SNKRS launch on 25 September.
One Piece Fans Can Also Get Matching Clothing
The sneaker collection is not the only part of the Nike collaboration. The range also includes jerseys, T-shirts, caps and a vest featuring details tied to the One Piece story.
Some of the T-shirts use manga-style artwork and designs inspired by Nike's older advertising style. Other pieces feature Luffy's Jolly Roger, while the jerseys and caps are designed to match the three Air Max Plus colourways.
The vest has an especially playful link to the series. Its design refers to the famous side effect of Devil Fruits, which leave those who eat them unable to swim.
Why the Nike One Piece Collaboration Stands Out
The new collection gives Nike a fresh way to mix sneaker culture with anime. Rather than using a single character across every product, the brand has built three different designs around the powers and looks of the Devil Fruits.
That approach also gives fans a choice between very different styles. The purple Gomu Gomu, fiery Mera Mera and berry-toned Ope Ope sneakers each have their own identity while still looking like part of one collection.
With an estimated price of £132 ($180) per pair and limited regional releases, the collection could become a major talking point among sneaker collectors and One Piece fans alike. Those hoping to buy a pair will need to check the release method for their country before the September launches.
