Pop superstar Taylor Swift channeled the charm and elegance of childhood nostalgia in a new outfit. The pop superstar surprised fans on Tuesday with an unannounced appearance at the Dolby Theatre. The Grammy winner attended the world premiere of Disney Pixar's Toy Story 5.

Swift was not present during the event's official press list. She made up for her absence by stealing the spotlight upon her arrival. The 'Ophelia' superstar debuted a fresh red-carpet look that embodied modern glamour with a nostalgic twist. Fans are saying that it is a clever nod to the beloved animated franchise.

A Nostalgic Accessory

The 36-year-old wore an off-the-shoulder structured minidress designed by Erdem. The neutral-coloured dress had a strapless bodice adorned with small bows and delicate strips of different floral fabrics. The singer looked sweet in her romantic outfit. Her look made her stand out among a crowded field of Hollywood A-listers.

Ever a fan of accessories, Swift decided to keep things to a minimalist level. She wore taupe satin sandals and a diamond tennis bracelet. The superstar also added an antique diamond horseshoe necklace, a subtle nod to the franchise's beloved character, Jessie.

The highlight of Swift's outfit was something familiar to fans who grew up with the beloved franchise: an original 1995 Toy Story VHS tape. The singer posed for pictures and greeted fans. She also stopped to ask lead actors Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, and Joan Cusack to sign her VHS tape.

For her makeup look, Swift chose her signature bold red lip and sharp black eyeliner flick. She wore her hair in a braided, half-up style that gave a perfect frame to her face.

'You've Got a Friend in Me'

This was not Swift's only outfit for the night. After the film screening ended, Swift performed her brand-new original song, 'I Knew It, I Knew You', a featured song in the official Toy Story 5 soundtrack. She later changed into a bright yellow, floral-embroidered gown by Oscar de la Renta.

Legendary composer Randy Newman joined Swift on stage. The duo treated the star-studded audience to a special live performance of the classic franchise anthem, 'You've Got a Friend in Me'.

Her 'Absolute Favorite Movie'

On Wednesday, Good Morning America shared a preview of a series of interviews with the cast, including Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, and Swift.

In the interview, Swift mentioned that she is the only songwriter besides Newman to ever write music for a Toy Story film. She shared how wonderful it felt to receive his blessing. Swift even said that the opportunity was amazing, and said that the new film was her 'absolute favourite' in the series.

She could not help but feel emotional during the interview, wiping away a tear and joking with the cameras about how much she loved the movie.

A Musical Departure

Swift shared with fans on Instagram that writing the song felt like a musical departure and coming home at the same time. The new track was a country-inspired tune, something which reminded fans of her old songs.

During the premiere, Swift expressed her deep emotional connection to the project. She said that it meant the world to her to be a small part of the cinematic universe. Toy Story 5 is scheduled for release in cinemas on 19 June.
