Rixo is getting ready for the festive season with a new partywear collection featuring statement polka dots, colourful celestial prints, velvet dresses and sequins. The British fashion brand is revisiting the vintage-inspired designs that have become part of its identity, with pieces suited to Christmas parties, winter weddings and birthday dinners.
The new edit combines familiar festive staples with the playful prints that Rixo is known for. From star-patterned silk dresses to elegant black velvet styles and a burgundy sequin gown, the collection offers options for shoppers looking for something special to wear throughout the season.
Polka Dots And Stars Lead The Collection
Polka dots and colourful celestial prints are central to the new collection, bringing a recognisable Rixo aesthetic to its festive designs. Rather than focusing solely on traditional partywear sparkle, the brand combines contrasting patterns with vintage-inspired silhouettes.
Rixo co-founder and creative director Orlagh McCloskey told Woman & Home that the motifs have long been part of the label's identity.
'Polka dots and stars have always been an essential part of RIXO's DNA,' she said, describing their timeless, vintage-inspired appeal.
One of the standout pieces is the Hayley Crepe De Chine Midi Dress in Star Dot Mix Multi, priced at £295. The dress features a detachable polka-dot skirt and a flowing silhouette, offering a statement option for winter weddings and other special occasions.
The Melanie Silk Midi Dress in Star Dot Mix Multi, priced at £345, combines the same contrasting stars and spots in another dress style. Its longer sleeves provide additional coverage, making it an option for cooler-weather events.
For those who prefer separates, the Kelly Silk Midi Skirt in Multi Cosmos Star Black costs £215. It can be styled with a black blouse and heels for an evening event or paired with chunky knitwear and boots for a more relaxed look.

Velvet Dresses Offer Classic Partywear
Alongside the colourful prints, velvet brings a more understated feel to Rixo's festive edit.
The Arlette Silk Velvet Midi Dress in Black, priced at £365, features a plunging neckline, cap sleeves and a taffeta bow at the waist. Its midi length balances the neckline, creating an elegant option for festive dinners and evening occasions.
The Ezra Silk Velvet Midi Dress in Black costs £275 and offers another take on the classic black dress. Its velvet finish makes it suitable for party season, while the simple colour provides scope to experiment with accessories. The source suggests pairing it with a gold bag from the Rixo x Dragon Diffusion collection.
Both designs offer an alternative to heavily embellished party dresses, with the fabric providing texture and a seasonal finish.
Sequins And Embellishments Bring Extra Sparkle
For shoppers who prefer a more dramatic outfit, the collection also includes sequins and decorative details.
The Melrose Sequin Dress in Brown Wine, priced at £385, features a rich burgundy shade and a fishtail skirt. The source highlights it as an option for black-tie dinners, combining a statement finish with a more formal silhouette.
The Minna Embellished Mini Skirt in Multi Starry Moon Embellishment Black costs £295. It was available in UK sizes 6 to 16 at the time of publication. The styling suggestion is to wear it with black tights, knee-high boots and a black roll-neck knit.
For a more understated look, the Lorraine Silk Satin Blouse in Black, priced at £235, has a tuxedo-inspired design. It can be worn with jeans or styled with a sequin midi skirt or wide-leg velvet trousers, making it a versatile piece for festive outfits.
The Perlia Silk Top in Cosmos Spot Black, also priced at £235, is made from 100 per cent silk. It features a pussy-bow tie, a defined waist and blouson sleeves, bringing another vintage-inspired design into the edit.
Rixo Focuses On Pieces To Wear Beyond Christmas
Although the collection is aimed at party season, its pieces are presented as options for occasions throughout the year. Printed dresses can work for weddings and birthday dinners, while the skirts and blouses can be styled differently depending on the event.
McCloskey said the brand enjoys creating designs that can be worn for celebrations but also dressed down.
'We've always loved mixing prints and creating pieces that feel fun and a little bit special for party season, but can just as easily be dressed down and worn in your own way,' she said.
That approach runs through the collection, from the signature star and polka-dot prints to the black velvet dresses and embellished separates. With featured prices ranging from £215 for the Kelly silk skirt to £385 for the Melrose sequin dress, Rixo's festive edit offers several ways to dress for the season while staying close to the brand's vintage-inspired style.
