Sienna Miller may have traded her signature boho style for gothic glamour, but her 14-year-old daughter Marlowe Sturridge proved that the early-2000s fashion legacy is alive and well at the War premiere in London.
The mother and daughter made a rare joint red-carpet appearance at the world premiere of Miller's new series War at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square on Wednesday, 16 September. Miller embraced dramatic eveningwear in a black feathered gown. Her daughter, Marlowe, quietly channelled one of her mother's most recognisable fashion eras.
A Contrast of Fashion Styles
Miller, 44, arrived in a strapless black corset gown by designer Dilara Fındıkoğlu. The dramatic creation was originally presented as part of the designer's autumn/winter 2023 collection. It featured feathers, a plunging neckline and exaggerated proportions, giving the actress a distinctly gothic edge. She completed the look with black heels, jewellery and her blonde hair styled in an elegant updo.
Marlowe went in the opposite direction.
The teenager wore a vintage-style yellow Pittsburgh Pirates T-shirt commemorating the baseball team's 1979 World Series victory, paired with a black silk midi skirt featuring a lace trim. She finished the look with Mary Jane ballet flats and, most importantly, a Chloé Paddington bag borrowed from her mother's wardrobe.
The Choice Handbag
The handbag was arguably the biggest fashion story of the night.
The Chloé Paddington first launched in 2005 and quickly became one of the defining It-bags of the mid-2000s. Miller was among the celebrities frequently associated with the style during the height of her bohemian fashion era, alongside stars including Kate Moss, Lindsay Lohan and Mischa Barton. The bag was reissued in 2025 for its 20th anniversary, giving a new generation access to one of the era's most recognisable accessories.
Marlowe's styling therefore felt less like a conventional celebrity-child red-carpet outfit and more like a subtle revival of her mother's fashion archive.
British Vogue noted that the teenager paired the Paddington with a slip skirt, graphic T-shirt and Mary Janes, while Miller has previously described her daughter's approach to fashion as 'very cool'.
Sharing Striking Features
The resemblance between the two was also hard to miss. Marlowe, who shares Miller's long hair and striking features, stood almost as tall as her mother while the pair posed and laughed together on the carpet. Her appearance was particularly notable because Miller has generally kept her eldest daughter away from the spotlight.
Marlowe has nevertheless shown an interest in fashion before. She joined Miller at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival for the premiere of Horizon: An American Saga, marking her first major red-carpet appearance. Miller told Vogue that her daughter had developed her own sense of style, describing it as 'quite '90s' and more polished than her own eclectic approach.
The teenager's fashion choices have also reportedly earned her access to her mother's wardrobe. Page Six noted that Miller previously joked about Marlowe's strong opinions on her clothes, while Miller has called her daughter a 'little fashion monster'.
At the War premiere, the contrast between them made the fashion moment even more striking: Miller looked every inch the gothic screen star, while Marlowe carried a piece of her mother's boho past into the present.
