Suki Waterhouse has no plans to pretend Hollywood connections do not exist if her two-year-old daughter ever wants to follow her and Robert Pattinson into entertainment. During a Los Angeles interview, the Daisy Jones & The Six star was asked whether she would advise her child against entering showbiz.

'Why would I advise against it? I'd be nepo-babying the hell out of her,' Waterhouse said in the interview published Wednesday, 9 September. She immediately clocked how blunt the admission sounded, adding: 'Oh no. Why didn't I just keep that inside?'

Waterhouse and Pattinson welcomed their daughter in March 2024 and have kept her name private. With a mother whose career spans modelling, acting and music, and a father known globally for The Twilight Saga and The Batman, their child would already have close access to an industry both parents know from the inside.

Waterhouse Is Not Pretending Connections Do Not Help

Rather than insisting her daughter would have to navigate entertainment without family help, Waterhouse made clear that she would be willing to use her position if her child eventually chose that path. Her response puts her firmly on the side of acknowledging the advantage celebrity parents can offer instead of pretending those connections disappear when their children enter the industry.

The admission is especially striking beside Waterhouse's account of her own start. She acknowledged growing up privileged but said her mother deliberately pushed her children to work rather than become idle. Waterhouse left school after being scouted as a model at 16 and said she made £400 in a good month early on.

She also described the entertainment world as far from uncomplicated. In the same interview, Waterhouse recalled unsafe and exploitative situations surrounding young models, including being asked by a photographer to pose nude when she was still a teenager. She also said models felt unable to complain to their agencies.

Her route into entertainment eventually broadened beyond fashion, giving her experience across the same industries her daughter could one day consider entering. Waterhouse did not say she wanted her child to pursue showbiz, only that she would not automatically advise against it and would help if that became her daughter's choice.

Her Daughter Already Knows Mum Is a Musician

Waterhouse has previously said her daughter is beginning to understand what her mother does for a living. In a July interview tied to her third album, Loveland, she recalled reading a book with different jobs and asking her daughter which one matched her mother. The toddler 'pointed to the woman with the guitar', Waterhouse said.

That recognition comes as Waterhouse's music career continues to expand. Island Records released Loveland on 10 July 2026, following I Can't Let Go and Memoir of a Sparklemuffin. She is also known for the viral song 'Good Looking' and for playing keyboardist Karen Sirko in Daisy Jones & The Six.

Pattinson brings an equally recognisable screen résumé to the family. The British actor rose to global fame as Edward Cullen in The Twilight Saga before taking on Bruce Wayne in The Batman. Any future entertainment career for their daughter would therefore arrive with inevitable attention around her famous parents.

No Child Star Launch Is Happening Yet

For now, no child star launch is in motion. Waterhouse was answering a hypothetical question about a two-year-old whose future career is still years away, and she has continued to keep major details of her daughter's life out of public view.

What Waterhouse has made explicit is how she would respond if that changes. She is not claiming connections do not matter, nor is she promising that her daughter will enter entertainment. If her child eventually wants a career in the same world as her parents, Waterhouse says she is prepared to help her get through the door.
