Zara Larsson thought she was simply encouraging Bangkok fans to dance along to Midnight Sun. Instead, her latest TikTok has opened up a much bigger conversation about the price of concert tickets.
The Swedish pop star posted a video of herself doing the dance from her song, with the caption: 'Day 2 of doing the midnight sun dance til my show in bangkok sells out.' The clip has now passed 8 million views, with fans complimenting her gorgeous look and others asking her to bring the Midnight Sun Tour to their countries.
Then came one comment that caught attention: 'How is it not sold out?' The replies quickly suggested that ticket prices could be part of the reason.

Fans Say Concert Tickets Cost Too Much
Several fans said the Bangkok tickets were simply too expensive for many people in Thailand.
One commenter claimed the cheapest ticket was equivalent to around a quarter of their monthly salary.
Another said the prices were 'way too high for native people', pointing out that the money spent on a ticket could cover essential expenses for some people. 'Thailand is a country with a lot of struggles, a ticket could literally buy their meal for months,' the comment read.
One fan went further, calling on artists to push for more affordable live shows. 'Wish singers would advocate for cheaper ticket prices,' they wrote, arguing that fans working regular jobs are struggling to keep up with the cost of living.
'Sh** is too expensive in this economy. while you guys flourish in money, you get to happily leave after singing and dancing on a stage. us have 9-5's that barely pays enough,' the fan commented.
The remark clearly struck a chord with Larsson and that's when she replied.

Singer Says She's 'Not Making Big Bucks'
Rather than brushing off the criticism, Larsson agreed that concert tickets should not be prohibitively expensive.
'I agree! I don't want my tickets to be too pricy and I will definitely see what I can do about that!' she responded.
But she also offered some insight into the less glamorous side of putting on a world tour. 'Right now in my career I'm definitely not making big bucks on touring. It's basically a non profit at this point,' Larsson wrote.
According to the singer, the money generated from the tour goes towards paying her team, transportation, production and other costs involved in staging the shows.
And in response to another fan who raised similar concerns about ticket prices, Larsson doubled down on her point that she is not making a profit, writing: 'I'm not making a bag on this tour truustt 😂.'
How Much Are Zara Larsson Tickets?
Larsson's Midnight Sun Tour is supporting her fourth studio album of the same name and includes dates across Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
Her Bangkok show is set for 1 November. The official Ticketmaster Thailand listing puts standard standing tickets between THB 2,800 and THB 3,900, while VIP tickets cost THB 9,000.
Using recent exchange rates, those prices work out at approximately:
- THB 2,800 — £63
- THB 3,900 — £87
- THB 9,000 VIP — £202
So, while the cheapest option is considerably less than the VIP package, the figures help explain why some local fans are questioning whether they can afford to attend.
