Alyson Hannigan has sparked a wave of reactions after sharing a rare selfie with her 14-year-old daughter, Keeva, as fans quickly pointing out the striking resemblance between the mother and daughter.
The How I Met Your Mother actress, 52, shared the photo on Instagram on 26 September following a mother-daughter outing at a Jellycat event. The post featured several pictures from their day, including the selfie with Keeva, images of the Jellycat-themed event and personalised treats bearing their names.
The 'Best Time'
Hannigan captioned the post, saying she had the 'BEST time' at the event and praising her daughter for creating a custom Jellycat-themed manicure.
'Safe to say she's the true artist in our family!' Hannigan wrote, while also crediting her older daughter, 17-year-old Satyana, for the manicure.
The selfie quickly drew attention because of how closely Keeva resembles her mother. Fans compared the pair's facial features and red hair, with several commenters saying they initially struggled to identify which person in the photograph was Hannigan.
Fans flooded the post with comments about the mother-daughter resemblance, quipping that Alexis Denisof's genes were completely overridden. Many drew nostalgic comparisons to Hannigan's past roles as Willow in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Lily in How I Met Your Mother. Meanwhile, other commenters shifted focus to Hannigan's detailed nail art, praising her cosy manicure decorated with miniature JellyCat designs.

Hannigan shares Keeva and her older daughter, Satyana, with actor Alexis Denisof. The couple met while working on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, where Denisof played Wesley Wyndam-Pryce and Hannigan portrayed Willow Rosenberg. They married in October 2003.
'2 High Schoolers'
The family resemblance has also become more noticeable as Keeva has grown older. Hannigan recently marked another milestone for her younger daughter when Keeva started high school. On 31 August, the actress shared a photograph of her daughter holding a sign referencing Taylor Swift and announcing that she was part of the Class of 2030.
Hannigan joked at the time that she now had '2 High Schoolers'.
The recent Jellycat outing also offered a glimpse into the creative interests of the family. Although Satyana did not appear to attend the event, Hannigan credited her with creating the manicure she proudly showed off in the post. The event itself featured Jellycat plush toys, themed decorations and personalised biscuits featuring the names Alyson and Keeva.
Hannigan has spoken about how her daughters react to comparisons with their famous mother. In an interview cited by E! News, the actress explained that her daughters have been able to see footage of her when she was around their age, giving them a clearer idea of why people regularly tell them they resemble her.
