Jessa Duggar has revealed she is expecting her seventh child with husband Ben Seewald, more than a year after speaking out about the 'rude and unnecessary' comments she had received about having a large family. The former 19 Kids and Counting star shared the news during an appearance on the Unplanned Podcast, hosted by Matt and Abby Howard.
'We're actually expecting again,' Jessa said in a preview of the episode released on Tuesday, 27 October. When Matt appeared surprised by the announcement, the reality star confirmed: 'Yeah, six weeks pregnant with number seven.'
The couple, who married in November 2014, are already parents to six children and have spoken about their desire to raise a big family since before their wedding. Their latest announcement comes after Jessa addressed online criticism while pregnant with their sixth child in 2025.

'Rude and Unnecessary' Online Comments
In a YouTube video titled 'Baby #6 Q&A + My Morning Routine', published in May 2025, Jessa discussed the negative reactions she had received over her growing family. She explained that although she had encountered criticism, people had generally not confronted her with the same hostility in person.
'When it comes to people saying negative opinions, I know this is not the case for everyone, but for me personally, I've never had anybody walk up to my face and be nasty,' she said. 'I have heard a lot of rude and unnecessary comments, but generally those are just online.'

Jessa also addressed remarks questioning whether she and Ben were attempting to follow in the footsteps of her mother, Michelle Duggar, who has 19 children with husband Jim Bob Duggar. Some commenters had criticised the couple for growing their family, while others questioned whether Jessa and Ben intended to have as many children as her parents.
'I'm not going to have 19 kids, but honestly, my mom is my hero. I love her. I adore her [and] she is my role model in so many ways,' Jessa said, praising Michelle's patience, love, gentleness and kind speech.

Michelle was also by her daughter's side during Edward's birth, which Jessa documented in videos shared online. The couple's seventh baby will join a family whose lives have continued to attract attention since Jessa first appeared on reality television.
Jessa and Ben had discussed their desire to have a large family before tying the knot on 1 November 2014. In an interview with PEOPLE ahead of their wedding, Jessa said: 'We both want to have a big family,' adding that they had also discussed adoption.
