Winter officially came to New York a few weeks early, and Jordyn Woods and Karl-Anthony Towns are apparently the bringers of the cold front. The newlyweds looked nearly unrecognisable after HBO transformed them into 2 of the iciest villains from Game of Thrones for their first Halloween as husband and wife. Towns became the Night King, while Woods joined him as one of his White Walkers.

Their formidable makeover was cool enough for HBO to crown them 'the coldest couple in New York'. Judging by the prosthetics, piercing blue eyes, and frostbite-inspired makeup, the title is difficult to argue with.

Jordyn Woods and Karl-Anthony Towns Went Beyond the Wall

The couple were photographed out in New York on 24 October after undergoing an extensive transformation with HBO's help. Towns was almost completely hidden beneath icy blue makeup and facial prosthetics recreating the Night King's distinctive frozen features. His costume added dark armour, boots, and a sword to complete the ruler-of-the-undead look.

Woods' usual glamour was equally difficult to recognise as a White Walker. Blue-grey makeup and intricate prosthetics covered her face and body, while icy contact lenses, and long platinum hair made her look ready to march straight out of the lands beyond the Wall.

HBO also revealed how much work went into getting the couple ready. Behind-the-scenes photos showed Woods and Towns sitting through the prosthetics and makeup process before emerging as their colder alter egos. Costume designer Sabrina Spanta created the looks, while Roger Baena headed the special-effects makeup department. Photographer Lanna Apisukh captured the finished transformation.

The costumes were not exactly random, either. Towns is a known Game of Thrones fan. When he met Kit Harington, who played Jon Snow, after a Knicks game in April, the basketball star reportedly joked, 'I would bend the knee, but my knee hurts right now'. Towns also revealed that he and Woods had been rewatching the HBO series together. Apparently, they were taking notes and now have taken over Halloween.

Their First Halloween as Newlyweds Got Very Cool

The transformation comes just over 2 months after Woods and Towns celebrated their wedding in Malibu on 15 August. The pair first met in 2017 and developed a friendship before beginning their relationship in 2020. Towns proposed on Christmas Eve 2025, and the couple officially married in a civil ceremony on 11 August before celebrating with family and famous friends at their oceanfront Malibu wedding days later. For their first Halloween as husband and wife, however, bridal white became White Walker blue.

HBO shared the Halloween makeover results with the rather appropriate warning, 'Winter is coming, New York...' Fans were equally impressed, with one declaring, 'The North remembers!' Another called the transformation 'next level artistry', while someone else cheekily dubbed it 'a song of ice and SLAY'.

Knicks fans had a somewhat different concern. New York started its new season 0–3, prompting the comments beneath HBO's post to fill with pleas for Towns to 'lock in'. One fan wrote, 'U know what's cold fr? Winning games', while another declared, 'These are 3-0 activities'. Tough crowd, but Westeros doesn't concern itself with scores during the Halloween season.

Fortunately, Halloween costumes do not count towards the NBA standings. As far as the costume competition goes, Woods and Towns may have already claimed the throne, and that's a 3-0 win for the couple.
