Ryan Reynolds brought his signature fourth-wall-breaking humour to San Diego Comic-Con. The actor crashed Marvel Studios' high-profile Hall H presentation in a custom denim Deadpool costume. Dubbing the unique outfit 'Jeanpool', the Canadian actor staged a mock audition from the audience floor in a cheeky effort to secure a role in the upcoming blockbuster Avengers: Doomsday.
The unexpected stunt took place during Marvel's showcase. Studio head Kevin Feige invited a masked audience member holding Deadpool's signature swords to ask a question to the panel. Sitting among thousands of fans, Reynolds wore a head-to-toe denim iteration of his superhero outfit. This paid homage to the famous 'Canadian tuxedo'. The actor kept his face fully covered by the mask.

Addressing the star-studded panel, Reynolds introduced himself as a 'longtime listener, first-time caller' before pitching his comedic queries. The panel included Avengers: Doomsday directors Anthony and Joe Russo alongside cast members Robert Downey Jr. and Paul Rudd.
'I'm not wearing the Doom mask over this mask because I didn't want to ruin the lines of my Canadian tuxedo', Reynolds joked through the suit. He quickly targeted Rudd with a callback to 2024's Deadpool & Wolverine, asking: 'Where is Thor, and why was he crying?'
Rudd poked fun at Reynolds' real-life venture as co-owner of Wrexham Football Club, teasing: 'Because he's a Wrexham fan?'

Reynolds fired back before pitching his true motive: begging for a spot on the cast of Avengers: Doomsday. Looking up at the stage, he asked the panel when filming was set to begin, prompting a swift response from Robert Downey Jr., who plays the film's central villain, Doctor Doom.
'It's in the can, bro. Look around you. Did you bump your head?' Downey Jr. replied.
Unfazed by the news that main photography had completed, Reynolds pressed on for an opening. 'I see. So there's no additional photography, no overages, hot costs—maybe last-minute additions?' he asked, before adding in typical mercenary fashion, 'No further questions. Happy Hogan, fetch the Audi. We're leaving.'
Following the panel, Reynolds officially confirmed he was the man inside the suit by posting behind-the-scenes photographs to his Instagram Stories, formally introducing the world to 'Jeanpool'.
Will Deadpool Be in 'Doomsday'?
Speculation on Deadpool's potential appearance in Avengers: Doomsday has circulated among Marvel fans for months. Marvel Studios has not officially confirmed whether Reynolds will reprise his role as the Merc with a Mouth for the upcoming ensemble film.
Reynolds addressed the rumours during an appearance at the Toronto International Film Festival. He claimed that had not stepped foot on the 'Doomsday' set. The actor teased that future projects involving the character remain in early development.
