Yeezy is reportedly heading back to the high street, and this time, it's doing things on its own terms.

Following Ye's (Kanye West) split from Adidas, the Yeezy Slides are reportedly set to return to physical retail through a new partnership with JD Sports. At the centre of it is the YS-01 Slide, a familiar silhouette now stepping into stores with a noticeably lower price tag.

Scheduled for release on 13 August, the slides are expected to retail at $44 and will be available both online and in select JD Sports locations. While the retailer has yet to formally list the product on its website, multiple sneaker sources point to the drop as Yeezy's first major in-store return since going solo.

Sliding Back Into Your Wardrobe

If the design feels familiar, that's because it is.

The YS-01 Slide is exactly the foam slip-on that became one of Yeezy's most recognisable pieces during its Adidas era. The difference now is ownership and the lack of the iconic triple-stripe logo. Ye retains the design patent for the slide, allowing the brand to continue producing and selling it independently, without ties to its former collaborator.

Visually, not much has changed. The same minimal, moulded shape. The same understated colour palette. The same relaxed energy that made it a staple in diverse wardrobes in the first place.

What has changed, however, is accessibility. Once priced closer to $90 under Adidas, the new iteration lands at nearly half that, marking its return as both a comeback and a recalibration.

From Direct Drops to Retail Reality

Until now, Yeezy's independent releases have largely lived online, often accompanied by the waiting time was a true test of patience even on the most loyal customers. The high demand and reported shipping delays did not sit well with audiences, which is exactly why a high-street return is a sigh of relief for many slide enthusiasts.

If the rollout goes as planned, it could mark the beginning of a more consistent supply chain, with JD Sports reportedly set to serve as an exclusive partner for future Yeezy footwear releases.

Details remain limited for now. No confirmed colourways, no full store list, and no official listing on JD's main platform just yet. Still, the revival of the trend is crystal clear: Yeezy is re-entering the physical retail space, and it is doing so with one of its most recognisable designs.

The Return of the Legendary Slides

For a brand that once dominated headlines, this comeback is expected to regain interest just as fast as the first time around.

Fans across social media platforms expressed their support for the re-emergence.

'That's all he ever wanted... was to make affordable stuff for consumers... he wanted to do this with Adidas,' shared one Instagram user.

Another fan of the Yeezy Slides posted: 'Best news I've heard all yeezy'.

With no grand reintroduction or silhouette introduction required, the Yeezy Slides are loved by a wide audience for a design that already works. Now, it's finding its way back onto shelves and back into the trend stream like it never left.
