Zendaya goes full python mode in her wildest collab yet Zendaya/Instagram

Zendaya steps into action-hero territory as she stars in On's second co-designed collection, featuring a cinematic campaign packed with martial arts choreography and high-energy stunts. But beyond the action, the collection foregrounds bold python print, sculpted silhouettes, utility-inspired details and an unexpected Mary Jane trainer.

Directed by Argentinian filmmaking trio Pantera, the campaign casts Zendaya at the centre of an urban chase as she is pursued by an all-female squad of combatants. Her long-time image architect and creative collaborator, Law Roach, also makes a cameo, helping her distract the pursuers as the action unfolds.

Rather than presenting the collection as conventional gym wear, the campaign puts its fashion-led details into motion. Zendaya's action-hero role provides the cinematic backdrop, while the clothes blur the line between performance dressing, streetwear and everyday style.

Python Print Takes Centre Stage

The collection's boldest visual detail is its striking python print, which appears across several streamlined pieces. The reptile-inspired pattern gives the performance wardrobe a more dramatic edge without overwhelming the clean silhouettes.

A form-fitting bodysuit, long-sleeved technical top and lightweight half-zip anorak all feature the print. The pieces use the pattern itself to create impact, allowing their streamlined construction to remain at the forefront.

The collection then shifts towards more relaxed proportions, with oversized crew-neck jumpers and tactical sweatpants featuring bungee-cord details and customisable ruching. The combination creates a contrast between body-conscious pieces and looser, utility-inspired separates.

Instead of separating activewear from off-duty dressing, the collection allows fitted pieces, oversized layers and technical trousers to work together as a complete wardrobe.

The Mary Jane Gets a Technical Makeover

The most unexpected fashion detail arrives in the footwear with the Cloudnova Moon Mary Jane. The silhouette reworks the familiar shape of a classic Mary Jane through a low-profile, performance-inspired construction. Its ballet-flat-inspired profile introduces a softer, more delicate aesthetic, while its technical engineering retains the functionality associated with On.

Available in Clove/Ivory, Dew/Antler and Black/Ivory, the shoe offers a quieter alternative to the collection's statement python-print pieces. Its hybrid design also captures the wider approach of the collaboration, where familiar fashion codes are reworked through a sportswear lens.

The contrast is particularly striking: the collection pairs animal-inspired pattern and utilitarian detailing with footwear traditionally associated with a more feminine wardrobe.

Fashion Designed to Move

Functionality remains an important part of Zendaya's collaboration with the brand, highlighting the collection's emphasis on clothing designed to accommodate movement.

That philosophy is reflected in the collection's combination of technical fabrics, streamlined cuts and adaptable details. The campaign reinforces the idea by putting the clothes through a series of demanding sequences rather than presenting them in a conventional studio setting.

The result is a collaboration that sits between performance wear and contemporary fashion. The python print brings drama, tactical details add a utilitarian edge, while the Cloudnova Moon Mary Jane introduces an unexpected ballet-inspired twist.

With Zendaya leading the campaign as an action heroine, On's latest collection combines athletic construction with fashion details designed to work beyond the gym.
