Balenciaga is bringing ski season to the city by transforming Parisian interiors into indoor snow scenes for its 2026 Luxury Ski Wear campaign. The imagery showcases winter clothing in unexpected domestic settings, emphasising the collection's suitability for both alpine and urban environments.
Balenciaga's creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli, who joined the fashion house in July 2025, designed the collection. For the lineup, he combines technical winter wear with Balenciaga's signature approach to proportion, materials and styling.
Technical Winter Dressing
Balenciaga's 2026 Luxury Ski Wear collection includes men's and women's performance outerwear and layering pieces designed for on- and off-slope conditions. The lineup includes high-collar parkas, reversible blousons, cropped puffers, and stola jackets, alongside insulated snow pants crafted from techno cotton and nylon.
Material innovation is central to the collection. Thermoregulating down outerwear features streamlined silhouettes, while next-generation smart textiles provide warmth, wind protection, durability, and aerodynamics. Select outerwear pieces feature RECCO reflectors that passively signal rescue professionals and can assist search efforts in emergencies without activation or charging.
The garments combine these technical features with functional branding, such as reflective Balenciaga graphics and branded zipper pull tabs. Hand-drawn prints inspired by mountain animal hides and faux-fur textures add expressive elements in high-visibility colours across selected pieces.
Beyond the Slopes
In addition to technical ski clothing, Balenciaga offers lined denim, knitwear, tracksuits and jersey essentials for everyday winter dressing. These pieces add layering options, allowing the collection to extend beyond skiing and into urban wardrobes.
The accessories range adapts established Balenciaga designs for colder conditions. The Le City, Le 7, Rodeo and Le City Backpack are reimagined in materials, such as merino shearling, waxed suede, vintage goat and Arena lamb. Seasonal colours include polar blue, storm grey, optic white, rose quartz, light espresso and caramel.
One example is the Women's Le City Backpack Mini in beige, which combines natural shearling, caramel aged goatskin and brass hardware. Made in Italy, it features adjustable shoulder straps, a removable braided handle, two front zip pockets, and a main compartment with a drawstring closure.
Oversized Winter Footwear
The collection's footwear showcases exaggerated proportions, including oversized Alaska boots and flat-form mules. Balenciaga also introduces winterised versions of its Combat Strike and nubuck-Nappa Arctic styles.
The men's Combat Strike Winter Boot combines noce suede calfskin with off-white lambskin shearling, hiking-style laces, and a thick toothed rubber outsole. It also features silver eyelets, visible stitching, and Balenciaga branding.
The accompanying accessories include black and mirrored pink ski masks, sunglasses designed to block snow-reflected light, gloves, scarves, earmuffs, beanies, headbands and hoods. A cotton canvas cap with buckled ear flaps provides an additional functional winter option.
Parisian Snowfall Campaign
The campaign showcases the collection through photographs, videos, and detailed product imagery set in distinctly Parisian interiors. Artificial snowfall transforms these interiors into surreal winter scenes, contrasting familiar urban settings with the alpine conditions technical skiwear is built for.
This setting reinforces the collection's central concept: clothing designed to transition between mountain activities and city life. Instead of limiting the pieces to traditional ski environments, Balenciaga highlights their versatility by placing them in broader winter settings.
The collection is available through select Balenciaga stores worldwide and the fashion house's official website.
