Khloé Kardashian says a California teacher's posts about visiting a 'special girl' in Los Angeles and his family's air mattress joke made her uncomfortable after their viral Instagram exchange. She explained her discomfort on her podcast Khloé in Wonder Land on Thursday, 22 October 2026, prompting the teacher to respond on Wednesday, 28 October.
Science teacher Jacob Myers-Norys, known online as Yacob, said the 'special girl' was his mother, not Kardashian. He also said the mattress exchange was a family joke and that students had given him a framed photo as a prank. He apologised for making Kardashian uncomfortable while disputing parts of her account.
The exchange began with an Instagram comment in December 2025 and resurfaced after Kardashian discussed his direct messages in the 8 October premiere of Hulu's The Kardashians. Kardashian said her reply was friendly, but the attention became unwelcome. Myers-Norys acknowledged contacting her but contested the claim that he had sent 15 unanswered messages.
Why Did Khloé Kardashian Say the Teacher Crossed a Line?
Myers-Norys posted an Instagram video with the caption 'Somewhere out there is the woman who's gonna ask how my school day was'. Kardashian responded, 'How was your day??' and he replied, 'mine is great now. How was yours?' Viewers encouraged a romance between them.
During the podcast, Kardashian said she began noticing references to herself in Myers-Norys' videos and stories. She recalled a post teasing a Los Angeles visit to see a 'special girl', which she took as a reference to her. She also described a framed photo of the two with a heart and screenshots of his family's conversation discussing an air mattress for her.
'I just thought it was a cute, fun moment. But that was it,' Kardashian said of her original comment. She said Myers-Norys then messaged her asking for further engagement, leaving her frustrated. She maintained that she had a right to set boundaries, although she acknowledged that raising the matter on television may have been unnecessary.
Teacher Says 'Special Girl' Was His Mother
In a video shared on Wednesday, 28 October, Myers-Norys rejected the suggestion that the trip was planned around Kardashian. 'That mystery girl was my mom,' he said, explaining that the post's reveal was a visit to his mother. He said the trip also coincided with a Buffalo Wild Wings partnership, during which he distributed gift cards to pupils and staff.
His account of the air mattress posts also differed from Kardashian's recollection. Kardashian associated the joke with Thanksgiving, while Myers-Norys said his relatives were joking about Christmas for a social media trend involving family group chats. He insisted nobody had arranged a sleepover and said the framed photograph had been a Christmas prank organised by his high school students.
Disputed DMs and a Public Apology
Kardashian said on The Kardashians that she had about 15 unanswered messages from Myers-Norys. He acknowledged contacting her but estimated that the direct messages totalled closer to seven, including a thank-you and a birthday greeting. He also said he had tagged Kardashian in several public posts and stories.
Myers-Norys said months of attention surrounding the celebrity exchange had taken a toll on him. He explained that he had hoped they could make a funny video together and put the story behind them. He also described receiving online abuse following the controversy.
Addressing Kardashian directly, Myers-Norys apologised for making her uncomfortable and said he respected her boundaries. He maintained that his family's jokes and his students' prank had been misunderstood, while recognising her discomfort. He ended his response by joking that he had actual high school drama to deal with.
