Madison Beer has officially entered the world of Fortnite, giving fans the chance to run around the game as the singer herself. The collaboration has plenty to get excited about, from outfits inspired by her real-life looks to cosmetics linked to her music and career.
But there is one thing some players cannot get past. They don't think Fortnite got Madison's face right. While plenty of fans welcomed the new Icon Series addition, others immediately took aim at the character's likeness, with some joking that the digital Madison looks more like a completely different person.
Inside Madison Beer's Fortnite Drop
Madison Beer joined Fortnite's Icon Series on 24 September, bringing a collection inspired by different moments from her career. The collaboration includes two outfits, accessories, emotes and Jam Tracks based around the singer.
The 'Make You Mine' outfit gives players one version of Beer, while the 'Satin Angel' outfit recreates the custom pink crystal corset and matching look she wore during the 2025 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. The collection also includes Madison's Angel Wings and Mookie & Maple Plushies Back Blings, Madison's OG Pickaxe and Madison's Mic.
Fans can also use 'Bittersweet' and 'Yes Baby' emotes and Jam Tracks, while the Madison Beer Icon Cup gave players a chance to compete for themed rewards.
The collaboration makes sense beyond fashion and music. Beer has been playing Fortnite for years and has previously spoken about keeping her gaming habit relatively private.
Why Are Fans Complaining?
For some players, the cosmetics were not the problem. Beer's face was. The reaction quickly became a mix of disbelief, jokes and frustration, with fans comparing the in-game character with the real singer.
'baby that's Madison Whiskey,' one fan joked.
Another asked: 'THAT?!?! is Madison Beer? That's barely Root Beer!'
Others were much less amused. 'I don't know who the F*CK that is,' one person wrote, while another said: 'oh please, it wasnt that fucking hard to get her face right.'
The criticism continued with comments such as, 'They made it nothing like her 😭😭' and, 'OK, but like did they have to botch her face it looks sooo bad noooo.....'
Another player wondered: 'Is it me or recently Fortnite is ruining faces ?'
Some fans did more than complain. Players have also created and shared their own versions of a Madison Beer skin, with some arguing that their edits capture her likeness better than the official Fortnite design.

Madison Beer as a Fortnite Gamer
Beer isn't a celebrity who simply happens to have a Fortnite skin. She has actually been playing the game for years.
In a previous interview with PAPER, the singer revealed that she had been playing Fortnite 'for a long time'. She also admitted she had been hesitant to stream herself playing because she expected fans to ask her to do it regularly.
Beer has continued to talk about gaming as part of her downtime. In an interview with Z100, she described gaming as personal time and admitted that Fortnite can make her particularly competitive.
That makes her Icon Series debut a little more fitting. She is not just being dropped into the game as a celebrity cameo. She already knows her way around Fortnite.
